Do European Xbox360 games work on American Xbox 360s (And Vise-Versa)?

I am an American living in Germany, and I have found that an European Wii game will not work on an American Wii (And Vise-Versa). I want to know if this is the same on Xbox 360s because I don't want to go out and buy a European game to have it not work or blow my Xbox 360 to kingdom come. I also want to know if I can lend my American games to my German friend. Answers anyone?

They do. I know this since some of the more obsessed and soulless "Achievement Whores" will actually have multiple regions of a single game. That way they can have 1000G in the same game 2 or 3 times. Plus I have seen mix US and Japanese game lists.

Money. Since games are cheaper in some areas, they don't want you buying those.

You'll buy the version they give you for the price they set and like it.

Especially if you live in Australia.
