If you weren't aware, SK court is infamous for throwing weak sentencing; We are talking about child r*pist only getting 12 years in prison, or a drunk driver who killed an innocent predestrian 5 years because "he didn't know any better in his drunken state". If it's an international affair, then SK court also likes to put on trial as an country-specific case.

Many people in SK are upset, and don't want him there. US is also filing for appeal for him to be extracted there instead. Kinda have to agree with these sentiments.

I mean, he did financial crimes, those get weak sentencing anyway. Unless he wasnt rich to begin with, then the pleb needs to be put in his place. Or maybe if he pissed off one or more chaebols.

Huh, no arguement there. But even compared to US standards, SK sentencings are still weak; 20-30 years vs 5-10 years.
