I have a PS3 and I may be moving to a place that has good internet. To me Mag looks like a fun game, but if no one every plays it theres no point in getting it if no one plays it. I mean the games selling point was triple digit battles so yea just thought I would ask.

It's fun once you level up and get your perks and weapons. Otherwise, have fun being owned from across the map by a guy with a maxed out sniper rifle or assault rifle. And yes people still play it.

It was fun, granted, but nothing special at all. The triple digit battles are probably the worst game type due to the fact you die very quickly! I quit about a month into it and haven't been back since.

I dip into it now and again, it's great fun to dive into for a few days every month or so, so you don't get burned out.

Yeah, been playing since day of release its a great game, but like has been said, the bigger game modes probably arent the best.
I prefer the 64 player modes.

I'm guessing that not too many people were playing it recently (on account of psn being down) but that's probably changing.
You should keep in mind that it is an online only game so problems with the network means you can't play it at all.

I liked renting it but I didn't think it was a keeper. The connections were always a bit shaky and it's kind of generic. However, if you have a good connection and you like generic online military shooters, it's a good choice as the battle progressions can be interesting and you get to play with a lot of people.

Mag is fine, but the concept of having 250 working as a multi-headed monster really didn't work out too well. The concept was taken from Battlefield 2 which would have a commander and several other squad leaders that would dedicate themselves to leading a cooperative team.

Still fell flat on its face though.

Instead, you should get Battlefield 2 over Steam. The community is still somewhat active but the gameplay is phenomenal, just don't expect too much cooperation. But hey, the system works better at least.
