Many people have a collection of somthing, books, films, video games and so. Those things are all pretty mundane though what i want to know is do you have anything out of the ordinairy or atleast somthing you or others might consider unusual to own a collection of?

Me personaly i have over the years collected an assortment of martial arts weaponry and knives. All of this is perfectly legal for me to own and is mostly used to decorate my house, hell i have one of my swords on the firesurround above my zoophi-- erm TV series boxsets.

I have currently three swords one half decent one, one an aweful peice of crap given to me and the other being more of a prop than actual blade. A pair a sai, a three section staff and a compound bow.

My knife assorment consisits of both locking and fixed blade, two of the former & three the latter, i also have a single throwing knife. I keep one of the knives on my desk but i use it to open letters so nothing sinister.

I dont think this is odd but i have had some of this stuff since i was a teenageer i basicly grew up around this crap. It would be easy i feel for a stanger to look at this and be concerned or atleast curious.

So does anyone else own anything just that little bit odd?

I collect books that are signed by the wrong writer. I've got a copy of The Invisible Man signed by Dan Abnett, among other things.

That is actualy pretty cool, i've a fair few books myself but none of them signed, i do have one though with the pages printed incorrectly essentialy about half a chapter is printed twice then it follows on normaly. Probably a common error but i've not seen anything like that before.

In a couple of days I'll meet Jim Butcher and ask him to sign People I Want to Punch in the Throat.

A pal of mine had a book where the cover was put on upside down.

Zombie stuff and cupcake related things. The combo seems to weird people out because one's so cute and the other... not.

I don't see why you can't have cute cupcakes, zombies ofcourse are very endearing anyway. Also i think cupcake collecting has just reached the top of my list of things people SHOULD definatly collect, though i supoose the collection wouldnt last very long with me.

I don't know if it would be considered 'odd', but the things I collect usually have nothing in common, aside from a few similar pieces.

If I see a model or a glass figurine that I like, I get it and add it to my weird shelf. I have 3 dragons, 6 angels, 4 swans, two of those glass cubes with lazer-cut designs inside. Some japanese stuff, some chinese stuff, some buddhist stuff, 7 dragonballs and a ton of semi-precious stones.

I also collect a lot of badges (or buttons, if you're american). Mostly from conventions and cheap goth stores.

Cheap goth stores are the best place to buy weird things from, there is one in the city about four miles away from where i live, i remember i bought a keychain from there years ago, it was nestled amoung about five hundred assorted buttons and keyrings on one of those spinning shelf things right next to the counter.

Depends on what you call "weird". Personally, I collect tabletop game books, stickers, buttons... anything find interesting, really.

LOL I don't mean edible cupcakes. I mean stuff like tshirts, knick knacks, plates, cups, etc. Before my cat destroyed it I had a mug with a cupcake on it. I also have a big cupcake shaped piggy bank. Also have a Pinkie Pie tshirt of her sitting inside of a cupcake. But I do love eating cupcakes. I mainly started this obsession back when I started dieting because I couldn't EAT cupcakes, so it was semi satisfying to just collect memorabilia.

Well, the weirdest thing I collect is movie tickets. I don't know if it's really weird though.

I collect high carbon so called "Battle Ready" swords. I currently have three of them sitting within arms reach of my chair. I think the only really odd thing about my collection is that they are all sharp enough to use as weapons.

Being an odd person, I'm not sure what in my gathering of stuff is precisely odd or not. I have swords. Does that help?

Shame edible cupcakes are the best kind, one might say they are the ONLY kind.

That is a collection with some actual use aswell, alot of people would argue vinyl is the best way to listen to music.

I used to collect an assortment of knives.

Pocket knives, combat knives and knives meant for decoration.

One of my favorites in the collection is a Kukri.

I'm kind of curious to hear what made you decide to start that collection.

Springs. Anytime I see a pen on the ground or some abandoned electronic/mechanical piece I always take them apart for the springs. Not sure why, but I have a fairly massive collection of springs in storage.

I also collect guns, knives, and older video games, but those aren't odd in the slightest.

Which is why it's kind of odd. lol But even if they're not edible, I still think cupcakes are cute as heck. I even go so far as to get my daughter cupcake related stuff since she seems to also enjoy cupcake related items even if it's not edible. We both looooooove cupcake scented lotions and soaps.

Hotel cards and token cards from the MtG. The first (Which is probably the oddest) because they always have such interesting designs, particularly between different hotels. The second because I really, really like how they look (most of the time).

Some of my personal favorites.
