Yeah, I do.

Both spelling and grammar. Especially on texting. Back in highschool, when I would exchange numbers with a girl, and she would send me a text "tlking liek this", I just didn't respond.

I try not to at the same time though. I know some very intelligent people that just text like that, such as my mother.

Yes, I definitely judge people who can't spell worth a damn. No, I'm not going to apologize for it. If you're a native English speaker, there's no fucking excuse for it. Okay, maybe dyslexics get a pass. I wouldn't say I completely write off a bad speller as having nothing worthy to say; however, I'm likely to view them as less intelligent and/or educated.

We all do, to an extent, because when we don't know somebody at all our minds will automatically try to form a judgement, just as they do IRL, and the only things that we have to judge said internet user by is there avatar and they're spelling. (<--- See what I did there? :D)

Yeah, I do. Only because usually bad spelling and unintelligent posts seem to come hand in hand. I'd say maybe 1% of bad spellers have anything intelligent to say. Not trying to offend, it's just true. The grammar and spelling on this forum is pretty top notch anyway.

EDIT: I usually find most people who don't bother with spelling and grammar are considerably younger anyway.

I'm dyslexic, so I frequently make spelling and grammar mistakes that I won't catch even if I re-read what I just wrote, not until I read it a few minutes later and it is no longer fresh. Which doesn't really work on a real time forum or instant messenger.

Only one thing annoys me in regards to spelling.
typing a sentence like this.
It annoys me when someone feels the need to place a period, and yet not use a capital. It's really more of a pet peeve. Anywho, actually on topic. No I can't say I judge someone by their typing, it'd be pretty ignorant to do so in my opinion.

I dont judge them by their spelling but it gets annoying sometimes, if its one mistake, no problem, if its ALOT, and I mean ALOT, it gets me annoyed.

I judge people by their writing in general, but I try not to. I just can't help it. I used to be exactly the same way as well.

Well I've been a native English speaker all my life but I have also been living abroad all my life. Never went to an English speaking school. I'm educated but I only learned how to write English a few years ago so there is an excuse for it I guess.
