Do you think digital distribution be taken into account when looking at game sales? Or do you perhaps think that only retail copies should be considered. Also if you buy a game pre-owned should it count towards sales figures for that game?

The reason I wish to know your opinions is because in threads about PC gaming dying people always bring up the fact that due to digital downloads being unaccounted for PC gaming looks worse off than it is. (The health of PC gaming is not the topic of discussion here, this 2nd paragraph is just scene setting as it were.)

It should, and considering Steam accounts for about (at least) 80% of legal digital distribution, getting the information should be easier if they allow for the flow of data.

Hopefully in the future all publishers sell there games through digital distribution, why drive to your nearest EB games? If you want a knew game just take 5 minutes to download it through the internet.

Is it magically not considered? That'd explain how pc sales don't punch console sales in the dick.
