isnt Doctor Who that english sci-fi show that aired back in the 80s? :S
No, it's the longest running science fiction show in history, spanning from 1963 to 2009+
Wow, thats pretty amazing, i have only seen about 2 episodes or so off it but i had no idea it had been going strong for 46 years, i will without a doubt check it out in the future, i mean if it manages to keep itself on the air for almost half a century then it must be good :p

Your determined to win the whole donna doesnt suck arguement aint ya boyo lol. yes i agree ther, captain jack was briliant in every episode he was in, wich is y i think season one was best cuz he was in it most of the time as well as rose.
Apart from Captain Jack and Rose being the most one-dimensional chavs ever. I preferred Adric over those two.

Oi! Captain Jack was the best companion in the whole new Doctor series!

Not Rose tho...so bad...

I like the way 'Planet of the Dead' ticked all the BBC/Doctor Who boxes.
Giant flies? Check.
Double-decker red English bus that can fly? Check.
Typical British black youth who fails an easy qualification? Double check.

The essence of a good episode encapsulated.

I hoping he does, i dont like the current doctor who, its just too child friendly. The older ones had some pretty nasty moments in them and were no full of crappy cgi.

Two wayward youths forced to join UNIT by doctor who? I mean come on, the army isnt easy, for all the Doctor knows they could get killed in all manner of nasty ways. Or is he just looking for more gimps in unit to cover his back?
And am i the only one who thought UNIT were retarded to stand so close to the wormhole? They almost got ran down when the bus came back though. Have they learnt nothing over 60s of fighting nasty aliens?

The commander probably got promoted above her skill level when a number of UNIT top brass got killed by the farting aliens in 2005 and sadly no-ones figured it out yet.

Regarding The Master returning, RTD is big enough of a fan-boy to bring him back, though I will only be happy with it if it also means a) Derek Jacobi taking the role again as he was a better Master in 2 minutes then John Sims was in 2 episdoes and b) the return of the rest of the Time Lords.

Moffat FTW!
Oh hell yeah.
Agreed.

I'm not sure about this. Even if the Master returns, which I don't think is likely, I doubt he'll be played by John Simm. Davies has also said that he only wrote that Flash Gordon ripoff into the end of Series 3 to leave open the possibility for bringing back the Master; he had no plans to actually bring him back at the time. While this may have changed, the preview of The Waters of Mars looks like it's going to be exactly what it says on the tin.

Anagrams are all well and good, but Torchwood didn't feature the Doctor as the main character, did it?

I absolutely love Root and Nilcypher, simply because until now I've been limited to one crazy ADHD guy among my friends who also like Doctor Who. As for this, we know that the Master will return for the final one because this was confirmed after John Simm was spotted with Catherine Tate and Bernard Cribbins on the set filming the fourth of the specials. So it's definite that the Master will be back. However, I'm more intrigued by the whole ring thing, when The Master died a female hand was shown picking up a ring from his ashes after the Doctor cremated him, so that may hold the key to his return. And the Master has already died and returned before, he died near the end of the original run in an Eighties episode and was mentioned to have been resurrected by the Time Lords just before the end of the last great Time War, but ran from the front lines at the end of the final battle. Hence his survival when the others were all wiped out. So a ressurection is always on the cards, no matter what the situation :D

That woman in the Easter special saying he will knock four times, kinda gave it away.

Or it could just be that we're barking up the wrong tree, after all, 'The Waters of Mars' is also an anagram of 'Wash A Ferret Most' or 'Her Swarm of Teats.'
It could potentially be an episode where The Master and The Doctor have a race to see who is able to wash a ferret the most. No idea where the teat swarm comes in, though.

I'd love to see John Simm play the Master again, he was brilliant last time. Also in a loosely connected way new series of Ashes to Ashes soon wooo.
