I shall try my best.

I actually do have a job in service, interacting with people, but it's way different being forced into conversation (Via work) and actually approaching people. Seriously, I don't know anyone, so I dunno what I'd say. What's a good conversation starter? I'll ask them if they like candy! :D

Well, my hobbies happen to be of a nerdier type, such things as card games (Haven't been to a tournament since I moved, but I used to play competitively in a couple TCG's) and videogames, though I haven't touched my Xbox or Wii in months. They must feel like a neglected spouse, but I just haven't had the heart to play them.

There is a girl at work I talk to every now and then, she plays videogames too but I'm not exactly interested in her or anything, and she has a boyfriend, so I generally keep our conversations short. She plays Pokemon, apparently.

I hear the school has a gaming association. I should check when it meets, and see if I have the time...

You don't have to bee after her in the sense of a relationship. Just make friends. Invite her and her boyfriend over for some gaming.

I don't want any trouble from the boyfriend, though, or anyone else thinking stuff that is not happening is going on.

The only way that'll be a problem is if he's the jealous type. I hang out with my friend's GFs all the time, and they were a couple when I had met them. No problems are caused.

Also, if he gets jealous, chances are that he doesn't trust her for some reason. There's a reason why I said invite both over for some gaming.

My room / house is a mess. Honestly, I can't even pull myself to shave regularly. xD I generally just hide about in my room to eat and leave.

Gah.

All of these things are fixable with minimal effort.

You would not be saying this if you saw my desk.

It's easier to fix something physical than it is to fix something mental, psychological and social. Trust me. The only thing that's winning out right now is laziness.

So, now you know what you need to find out and what you need to do.

As far as meeting like-minded people goes, try meetup.com.

I use it to find like-minded software developers to talk, share ideas, and make lame nerd jokes about technology.

But there are other interest groups as well. Hiking groups, freerunning groups, volunteer groups, video game groups (!), so on and so forth. I'm not sure where your general location is, but it's worth looking through different groups. That way, it's much easier to open up as you will all have similar interests.

Having moved somewhere once where I didn't know anybody is a daunting prospect for anyone.

I am not an expert with depression, but I second everyone's advice on seeing a therapist.

Also, as for not having friends, if you're going to school, are there a lot of groups on your campus for various activities? Have you considered joining one just to try it out? Even if it doesn't work, you would have at least tried.

On the same vein, have you tried meetup.com ? It lists all the groups meeting for various activities in your area and there are a LOT of activities on the site. I tried it when I first moved to a new town because there was an anime group. I didn't know any of the people and believe me when I say I was really intimidated and thinking "Oh, they won't like me, what if I am not cool enough D:" BUT! I did go. And because I took a brave step forward, I have had several good friends for years now.

EDIT: FFFFFT NINJA'D. BUT I AGREE.

Go out drinkin'? :D

It'll get the job done, but figure out if the folks you meet while drinking are going to be the folks you want to hang out with. Chances are that, for gamers, the answer is no.

Too cool for you? At an ANIME CLUB?

Bleep bloop, does not compute.
