Does the Episodes From Liberty City Manual Hint At New GTA Game?

A page found in the manual of the recently-released Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City may be teasing the existence of the next GTA game.

The picture you see here is from the manual for Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City, and it announces what we knew - that Ballad of Gay Tony marked the end of Rockstar's return to Liberty City, and that the developers would be moving on to greener pastures. "Liberty City, It's Over!" reads the card, but the interesting part is the next bit.

The card says "Next Stop," but the relevant bit that would (presumably) be there has been "torn out." We can catch a glimpse of what looks like a vaguely Alpine setting - mountains, pools, pine trees - though as a clue, it's completely spotty at the absolute best. The only other hint on the page read "Theatre Seagull" (which doesn't ring any bells) and "Opens Everywhere March."

It's easy to interpret this as a teaser for the next GTA game (despite what Strauss Zelnick has to say [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/94399-Dont-Ask-Strauss-Zelnick-About-Grand-Theft-Auto-V]), and I'm sure that people will be wildly speculating about the setting, but I'm not so sure. March 2010, after all, is the stated date for Rockstar's cowboy action game Red Dead Redemption, so this could very well be a teaser for that game instead. Though if it is, I'm not sure where the pine trees would come into play - I'm pretty sure they don't exist in the desert.

What do you think? GTA5, Red Dead Redemption, or Rockstar North having a bit of fun at our expense?

I'm almost 100% sure it's GTA5. It sounds most like it, being in a GTA game's manual and all.

Besides, why wouldn't they make a new GTA?

Red Dead Redemption, The Agent... and now a possible GTA V?

How many big title games can Rock Star work on at once, exactly???

My guess is for Red Dead Redemption. The dates line up, and the world in that game is reportedly huge and will encompass mountains, lakes and forests as well as deserts...

Just cause I have a stupid mind and think they'd screw up and do it I'm gonna say it's hinting at SAn Andreas, remember the wooded areas?

Well, they are pretty big after all.

I'm fairly sure it will be set in San Andreas again.
Hell, that actually sounds fuckin' awesome.

Dear God, please not San Andreas 2: More Stereotypes.

but having an actual state like area to run amok would be cool with current gen graphics
And maybe they'll actually put in a mission where you kill Bigfoot. I was so =( when I found out he isn't really in the game.

Wow.
You mean that they're going to make another gta game?
How shocking.

As a pc & ps3 gamer, I find it hard to get excited. The last one only got interesting on the 360 and only after spending $20 extra dollars.
Sorry, let me put away this miniature violin.
Seriously though, wake me up when they announce another Saints Row. That last one was fun right out of the box.

It could be set in England...the Seagull Theater is a theater in Pakefield, Suffolk (England) so maybe a GTA set in Europe? That'd be cool.

Red Redemption is my bet. I get the itch that Rockstar might be taking a short break with GTA. I still hope Vice City is the next setting.

Probably Red Dead Redemption, the dates match up. Oh and as to the whole "there are no pine trees in the desert." The Wild West does not only include the desert. If you look at a picture of Flagstaff Arizona...

It looks very similar to the small picture in the manual page.

I wonder which of the two other set pieces it will use for the next installment, if indeed it is a new GTA.

Which seems more plausible from the wording.

Grand Theft Amsterdam?

"We vud arrest you, but we're too busy enjoying all this pot and sex."

But they have to know that a Grand Theft Auto Londinium would sell a bomb.

My guess is that the next GTA game will have the same engine as GTA IV but just a different setting. kind of like San Andreas and Vice City were to GTA III. My guess is GTA V wont be released until the next generation of consoles come out.

But, I am excited to see what Rockstar does next. The idea of a more mountainous setting would be a welcome change from Liberty City's mostly flat terrain. I still think the best setting in any GTA game has been San Andreas with its Cities, towns, mountains, deserts, and forrest. You can't go wrong with variety. :)
