Don't Stop Mario Now
Who knew that gaming's most famous plumber and the dulcet tones of Freddie Mercury would make such a natural combination? At least one fan did, setting footage from Super Mario Galaxy to Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now" in an almost commercial-quality video that's sure to help you ease into your work day.
Now, it's certainly no secret that the vast majority of fan-made Anime Music Videos (AMVs) are utter crap. All you need is one look around YouTube to tell you that - though sometimes there are pleasant exceptions [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5W_wd9Qf0IE] to the rule.
When 95 out of every 100 or so fan-made music videos are awful, it makes the rare gems all that more valuable. In all honesty, I can't quite say exactly what it is that makes this one particular tribute to Super Mario Galaxy so very compelling. Yeah, Queen is awesome, and SMG is easily one of the best games this console generation, but the two just blend together so damn well. Perhaps it's that both the game and the song just seem so damn exuberant and joyful, making one very natural fit.
Zelda: Majora's Mask set to Sonata Arctica [http://www.youtube.com/user/JimLad800], myself.
