Double Fine Kickstarter Ends Tomorrow

There's just one day left to toss your nickel into the Double Fine Adventure Kickstarter hat, which is slowly crawling toward $3 million.

With just one day remaining, the Double Fine Adventure Kickstarter is way over goal - a little more than $2.8 million over goal, to be a bit more precise about it. That's no surprise in itself, since the original target of $400,000 was blown out of the water [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/115746-Tim-Schafer-Raises-1-3-Million-Update-Again] in the first 24 hours and the million-dollar mark went sailing past just a couple days after that.

But the more, the better, and so if you haven't yet kicked in to the pot, you might want to get on with it. Double Fine has even sweetened the deal a bit for deep-pocketed backers: Anyone who ponies up $100 or more will get, along with all the other cool stuff in their pledge package of choice, a seriously stylin' Double Fine Adventure Backer t-shirt, a lovely Haines gray with Double Fine's double-headed mascot slapped on the front. It may not be the sexiest t-shirt you've ever owned - or maybe it is - but it's definitely unique no matter what spot it occupies in your own personal pantheon of couture.

"We're still pushing for more, because the more money we have, the more awesome we can make the game," Double Fine honcho Tim Schafer explained in the latest, and possibly last, Kickstarter update video. He also showed off a wonderful painting by Nathan "Bagel" Stapley which will be used to create the poster included with all pledges of $100 or more and a couple of randomly-chosen games which will serve as the inspiration for the cover of the boxed edition of Double Fine Adventure.

Can the DFA Kickstarter break $3 million? It'll take another $170,000, give or take, and with roughly 30 hours left on the clock, it seems like a bit of a long shot. On the other hand, reaching the $400,000 goal probably seemed like a long shot too, back when all this Kickstarter stuff began, so I wouldn't count it out just yet. If you want to help make it happen, go throw some cash at kickstarter.com [http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/66710809/double-fine-adventure].

I hope this is knocked out of the park since it could give a lot of up and coming indy devs a way to help get funding and put out a great game. Show the "big boys" how it's really done.

Man, I wish I had a hundred dollars to spare. However, real life obligations like to suck up all of my money as well as money I don't have.

I wish I could toss more than $30 their way. The $100 rewards look great, but I just can't afford it right now.

I'm glad I was able to support the Kickstarter in some way though. Tim Schafer is one of the most passionate devs in the industry and I've yet to walk away from any of his games with anything less than a huge grin on my face.

So...it ends on Tuesday at 8:00pm EDT, right?

Oh, man. I REALLY want to donate $100 because of the goodies. But I don't know. OH, DECISIONS! D8

Hopefully, if I get enough money by tomorrow, I might give them a 100 bucks. If not, then just 60. I don't like adventure/point-and-clickers too much...but I definitely support this cause. I just wish one day I can be as awesome as these guys when it comes to developing games.
