Dragon age help?

I just beat the broodmother but now im stuckon the four faces that shoot souls, any help?

Kill the souls, and the anvils surrounding it will begin to glow. Activate the anvils to shoot at the faces. You need to hit each face twice. The first hit will cause the face to start bleeding, the second hit will kill the face and that face will no longer spawn souls.
