DSi Exclusive Ghostwire Announced for Late 2010

The DSi-exclusive Ghostwire is a very interesting looking augmented reality game, and now it has an official publisher.

When A Different Game's Ghostwire was first discovered [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/94170-Hunt-Ghosts-in-Real-Life-With-Ghostwire-and-the-DSi], it was a really cool idea but had no official publisher. Majesco recently put out a press release naming themselves as the guilty party that will take on the task, dating the DSi-exclusive title for late 2010. Warning, if you believe in ghosts, do not buy Ghostwire, because it will make you think your house is truly haunted.

Ghostwire is an augmented reality game, putting players to the task of "solving" the mysteries of ghosts from real life environments. Using the DSi camera as a viewer, ghosts will appear in your surroundings on-screen, but this game isn't just about walking around, finding a ghost, and hitting a button. Each ghost has its own personality, whether it be shy or evil, and can only be either removed or satiated when certain conditions are met. A short Bitmob interview [http://www.bitmob.com/index.php/mobfeed/is-your-dsi-haunted-ghostwire-can-help.html] has revealed some of the tools that will be at your disposal in Ghostwire, such as the "EVP meter, ionizers, a ghost radar, and several camera extensions, like IR and thermal view."

Now going by its new official title, Ghostwire: Link to the Paranormal is everything I could want from a DSi-exclusive. As cool as it is to be able to overlay your face on wanted posters and the like using the DSi's cameras, more can be done with the system's unique capabilities. It's great to see that Ghostwire will now see the light of day, but the fact that it's coming in late 2010 is disappointing. On a positive note, maybe the wait will give more ghosts time to move into my house, where I can then solve their mysteries and make them my friends. Oh, wow. I'm sorry, but this looks really stupid. I'm all up for VR, and getting towards it... but... wow.

I guess we'll see how it turns out.

Meh, looks kind of gimmicky and short lived.

I'm liking the step forwards for REAL first person though.

Gah, I have been waiting for it wondering when it would come out hoping every time I checked the store that it would be there. Crap, ah well, now I have a time and can buy Thorium Wars without a guilty concise.

There would have to be a much, MUCH, better DSi exclusive to make me consider getting one. Hell I still have the original DS not even a DSlite, but if my DS broke I'd get a DSlite over a DSi.
