Am I the only one who thinks there should be bonus points for trash talking through the mic after a kill?

It would be epic if instead of a language filter like some (text) games have, this game includes built in voice chat/voice recognition software that does cool things to benefit those with the most foul mouths who can swear and be rude louder than everyone else.

Well "epic" in the sense of funny for about 5 minutes. :)

Capture the stripper would be a blatant rip-off from Postal 2:Share the pain "Snatch".

Capture the Stripper? Assault? There aren't any limits when it comes to the Duke.
Throw in a good-natured version of "Smear the Queer" and we'd have a perfect controversy platform.
Well, Postal originally had "Capture the Slag".

(Which is hilarious to Brits, but confusing to the Americans - Capture the Slut might be more your territory ;))

Wait, so after years of complaining at people being rude and abusive over the mics in multiplayer, suddenly you are praising it because it is attached to this game?

To be honest I don't know what is so special about this game anyway...

Please bring the fat ray back, please! Plus Duke Nukem always did have fun multiplayer. I remember one time a friend and I even used cheats to get jetpacks, infinite health, and freeze guns then played tag with it...

Well they're certainly not saying anything definite, so I can't really make anything beyond conjecture at this point. However, if they mean to say that the multiplayer's designed to cater to annoying 12-year-old shit talkers then they certainly need to rethink things.

Trying to make an online gaming community insulting and shit-talking is like trying to make eating babies offensive. The work is done for you.

They better get on it, because If I'm not mistaken, Dukesday is coming up pretty quickly on us, and aren't we almost in the debugging time before it goes gold?

Edit: Oh, crap. I thought Dukesday was in April, not early May.... but still.

XBL, meet DNF. DNF, meet XBL.

Probably a marriage made in heaven. I know I'll keep my mics turned off.
More like a marriage made in hell. I know what game i won't be buying... This game seems to be made exactly for the XBL crowd. Tits, excessive explosions, grotesque aliens, and a hyper-masculine hero. It's like everything that i thought i wanted in a game just got subverted.

As it should be. In fact, didn't the original Duke 3D actually have hot keyed pre-recorded taunts for use in multiplayer?
As someone else pointed out - it did indeed.

I'm sorry, but DN3D was fun as hell MP. Especially with the level editor, it wasn't too difficult to create your own maps and pass them around to friends and all, too.

There was some bad-ass features in the original MP . . . like cameras and such, you could watch your opponents running around; using remote pipe bombs, laser pipe bombs . . . the shrink ray and freeze gun were fun, too - being able to tea bag your opponent before you killed them.

It was extremelly over-the-top . . . just what you'd expect DN to be about.

If we were to follow the stereotype of XBL, then nobody who plays on XBL will buy it because it's not CoD or Halo.
