They should have done a proper research in the first place, if they want to be picky about these kind of things.

You know, if they wanted to just not extend her an invitation, that would be one thing, but this is just not kosher. Shame on you, Activision. Uninviting people to anything is just plain low-class.

Well, obviously, the difference is, the porn star has actually had sex, while the gamers are only PRETENDING to kill people!

So, of course, actual soldiers will be uninvited from the event too... right? I mean, if we don't want to glorify sex, we also don't want to glorify getting paid to kill and maim people for the benefit of the fat cats who are leeching off the military-industrial complex...
Firstly, excellent quip on your part!

Second, that makes me wonder who was invited? Surely then, they wouldn't want to associate themselves with any actors who portrayed acts of sex or violence or drug usage or swearing or anything that could besmirch the sanctity of the good [small][sub][small]Airport Massacre, Nuclear Attack, Assassinate Castro[/small][/sub][/small] name of Activision.

As others have pointed out, at least do 5 seconds of research on Google or something for who you invite. Besides, anything that this woman could have done on film is likely 90% less offensive than what you would hear playing Call of Duty online.

*Additional Thought*
Can you still teabag people in Modern Warfare 3? Because I could especially see the hypocrisy if that is the case...

Hey now, porn stars need love too.

Also: "War is organized war and torture against our brothers." /Alfred Adler

Also, Einstein had roughly same principle.

ANYWAY:
I can see why they did it...not for PR but they're probably trying to cater to a specific crowd..investors and the like. So yes, it sucks. But prudes will be prudes.

Oh noes a porn star wasn't let into EA's little party? It's the end of the world!

I mean seriously, it is Activision we are talking about here and also porn =/= violence. Two separate genres. Violent games are entertaining (for many) but isn't real violence. Porn star = real porn and sex, not fake stuff. Also, I'm pretty sure EA wouldn't want to invite serial killers to their events, even though it is more relevant than porn stars.
Youve clearly never seen how fake porn can be.

OT: Thats messed up even if it was a mistake they shouldnt uninvite her.

So it's allright to have skimpy boothbabes with not much clothing running about everywhere, but an actual adult star is not?

Difference?

..., she is paid to have sex, not how she wants, when she wants or with who she wants, but how, when and with whom she is told.
I think that's rape.

She doesn't have to, she chose to do this for a living. Just like other people choose to bake cookies.

Its ok to allude to sex but not ok to have it or show it, apparently.

Weird world we live in. Over here companies would like to have her around. It creates publicity ya see. But oh well.

Believe it or not, but there is a union. And Kim Holland is quite the erm.. Bust of the industry, forgive the pun. Besides, if she likes doing that job that's her problem. In the Netherlands, noone really cares. Only outside the Netherlands there are huge problems with adult movies. And adult movies is not the same as prostitution. Sure both get paid to get involve into adult actions with other people, but all are screened & tested and probably paid alot better.

But oh well, let's not dwell on the topic wether or not it is rape (as rape is nonconsensual, and adult movies are consensual so it's not rape. Unless they are into rape play.) or wether or not it is a job or not.

Who cares, chick got ditched for the launch of MW3. All I know is that I will still be there & present x3

Very Classy Activision, By Doing this they've actually drawn attention to the fact she was invited in the first place. Also in most countries this game is restricted (Or recommended) to adults anyway.

Real classy, denying a fan because of the job she works for.

In other news, Breviks invitation to launch party still stands.

Not that I disagree with her stance but I don't think 'love-making' would be the right term for it. xD

well, i can see how a game that is esntially marketed to children may not want adult industry as a party guest (both cases, the amarketing and guest list beign wrong IMO).

They should send her the Xbox and new copy of the game they were going to give out anyway as an apology. I mean I get why they don't want her there, its a bad reputation and image (as stupid and sad as that is really), but they have shouldn't have made the cock-up in the first place and invited her without checking what she does for a living. A quick google search would have sufficed. No excuse.

Does it really matter? Beyond the guild of over-zealous parents who think computer games are the source of all evil, I imagine the majority of gamers wouldn't mind a porn star being there. Video games, whether an art form or not, can appeal to all people so I don't think anyone should neglected from a 'launch party'. In all fairness, I'm not a fan of MW. But I've played it, enjoyed it and I've watched a lot of friends playing it. Even if she went there naked, I doubt many heads would turn to look at her if there was a demo to play instead.

"Oh look, a sexually attractive naked chick. She won't sleep with my 300lb ass. But the ones on my computer screen probably wouldn't object to me masturbating in front of them after a marathon of Modern Warfare 3. Maybe on my way out, I could 'accidentally' bump into her bumps, but that would be of no interest once I tell my friends I was at the launch part of mother loving MODERN WARFARE 3!!!!"

Sorry, I am cynical. If you're there for a lauch party, would you really care if a porn star was there or not? If I was invited to a lauch party for a game I enjoyed, I would just be impressed if a 'celebrity' showed up because they enjoyed the game. I'd like them more as a person, but if they were a crap actor or someone I generally avoided, I wouldn't think any differently of their abilities afterwards.
