E3 2010: inFamous 2 Trailer Frostily Expands Cole's Powers

I don't like his new look and i kind amiss the old voice actor but i could get use to it. I love the two prong weapon he has is nice.

But i do hope he still has the classic sly cooper backpack.

He does, at least that's what it looks like the giant tuning fork is attached to on his back.

I don't mind the changes, it took me a moment to get over the moment of shock of the voice change, but it doesn't sound too different, just less gravel. The appearance change is understandable to me, if I were a super powered dude after the events of the first one, either way, I'd have left Empire City and changed my looks too.

Please tell me he isn't going to get some cliche' "Power of Ice if Good" or "Power over Lava if bad" sceme we had in the first game...

Wait, what? There was no ice or lava in the first game. There was blue and red lightning, but it was still lightning.

I know that, I am saying I hope they don't expand that prospect to the Ice they just revealed, with lava (replacing or going along with red lighting) being the evil opposite of Ice.

The voice is better, IMHO, I like his clothes in his one better too, but I hope we can download the old look. I'm not digging the hair. They can switch the voice actor because that was a misstep, but there needs to be some continuity.

next thing will be Fire and then Acid and then Cole will have a Sword and a Shield just like in Castle Crashers...

Hey i didn't notice the icy bit during the live stream, must've skipped forward. Hopefully it's just the 2 elements we're controlling, it's nice to go into detail with just one instead of being drowned out by a zillion different attacks.

Having said that, they'll probably give Cole pyrokinesis in the threequel.

If they make one... which they shouldn't. I'm not saying I have anything against Sucker Punch or inFamous, but threequels usually end up failing dismally.

Such as...? I'm not arguing, I'm really asking as for me at least third installments are usually good.

Did you gents notice the cyclone in the preview? I'd imagine we're getting wind related ability too.

He looks virtually indistinguishable from every other handsome white guy with cropped brown hair [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/57-Painkiller] which is to say pretty much all video game action heroes.

And to add insult to injury his costume is so plain and normal looking too.

I get the feeling that this game is not going to be about Cole McGrath from the first game. Just some guy in England with the same name and powers. Plus ice.
Still not sure where that puts me on a Excited/"Kiel it with fire![footnote]or ice[/footnote]" scale.

Yeah... so far that's my main gripe about this sequel. The hair doesn't even bother me, but the change in voice actors was the first thing I noticed, and.... I don't like it, at all.

Now that the PS3 owners get their Infamous 2, us poor Xbox and PC gamers have to wait for Prototype.

I'm waiting, Activision, I'm waiting...

Unless it's a far cry and a major step up from the first game, I'm going to have to go ahead and say I'm praying prototype two has development (or cash) issues and is never made.

Plus, they gave him fucking tribal tatoos...ugh. I think Sucker Punch took a few to many pointers from Uncharted with this whole "plain hipster" look.

One of the people working on it said that he would still be the "Electric Man" and not "Iceman"
Can't say I'm to happy about that, it could mean that either his ice is not worth using, not very many powers, or if the electricity will just improve faster and be deadlier (but maybe they would take longer to charge/use?).
Apparently you get to keep a lot of old powers, and who needs an ice slide when you can grind on power lines/railroad tracks?

Giant monsters? Oh, come on! I was intrigued, until I saw that...if it's made out of dustbins, I'm fine with it, but I hope Sucker Punch doesn't turn Infamous into Resident Evil, with all it's fleshy bad things.
