I found E3 2010 pretty much a huge dissapointment with all the things I had hoped for (Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Kingdom Hearts 3, PSP2) not showing at all. I've got to say however that my biggest dissapointment was Kinect. This thing looks like utter crap, all the games are just knock-offs of wii games and at $150 (possibly even £200!) you got to be f*cking kidding me, M$.

Also am I the only one who doesn't see the huge mistake that the awesome looking 3DS ONLY HAS ONE ANALOGUE STICK? Didn't you learn from the PSP?!

The biggest disappointment to me was Sony's press conference. They didn't even really show many games and the ones they did show, we already knew about. That whole conference was them gushing over 3D, The Move, and throwing in advertisement every now and then.

The obession with pointless gimmicks rather than showing off games that might be different and fun. Sure. They also did that but focus was on the vapid stuff and that's disapointing.

Kinect and Microsoft press conference were bad but worst of all...
That just made me mad. All that hype for nothing.

Isn't E3 all about overhype and dissapointment?

I only really caught the xbox kinect pile of crap. Typically filled with cheap games and advertisers.

I think people are reading that wrong. Steamworks for ps3 actually really IS a huge surprise. It's an interesting idea, and one I never saw coming. Why would Sony be excited about someone else getting into the PS3 digital distribution scene? What's going on here?

Not showing Resistance 3 or Mirror's Edge 2 were mine.

Out of what was shown, EA's conference was really boring.

Really? the 3DS only needs one analog stick. Jeez. Think of it like a gamecube.
Yes really there are so many games on the PSP that suffer because there is only one analogue stick to control the camera with. This applies to metal gear solid and pretty much any shooter.

On the posotive side Metal Gear Rising looks amazing.

Valve don't care. All they had to say was surprise at E3 and they got $100 million (probably not that much) of free press.

My biggest disappointment is it isn't spring-summer of 2011 so I can try The Old Republic.

Funny that you mention The Old Republic, because I see that as one of the major letdowns. BioWare promised a whole bunch of great new information about the game, and then basically told us stuff that we either already knew or could easily guess at. I'm still excited to play the game, but it just wasn't the sort of showing I had hoped. In fact, watching the ridiculous fallout over the 'healbot' gameplay on the TOR forums was far more entertaining than any of the actual content shown.

I'm steering clear of the forums altogether. I'm just kind of curious why people are so surprised by the idea of RPG concepts being in an RPG style game. It would be like playing an FPS and complaining about having guns and grenades.

Without a DOUBT it was Microsoft's press conference. Seriously when i'm more interested in the live stream of comments than the actual conference itself, something is BAD. Also having a little girl play with Skittles the god damn tiger for a full 10 minutes doesn't hype me up as a gamer for my Xbox 360 -.- Oh and they just bought the press at the end by giving them all free new 360s. NEW? PFFF That thing is just smaller, quieter, with bigger HDD and built in wi-fi. Hmmm... does that... does that sound familiar? OH YEAH IT'S A PS3. WHAT A JOKE M$ CMON. It was proof all M$ care about is money, they SOLD OUT TO CASUAL GAMING.

Kirby : (. What have they done to him? That is not a Kirby game, that's some shoddy platformer with a stupid gimmick. It may be harsh to judge a game before it's even released, but having a game where Kirby can't even inhale is like having a mario game where you can't run or jump.
And this is the reason why developers never try new things!

Kirby usually tries new things, such as with Dream Course and Canvas Curse. But even those two games keep the basic elements in play of being able to copy the enemies powers. It's taking what makes Kirby, Kirby, and getting rid of it completely.
Maybe they wanted to do something different with Kirby?

No ME3, No DA2, No PSP2, No Beyond Good and Evil 2. A huge focus on motion controls, which I would not call a 'gimmick', but I only have a mild at best interest in. What are they good for anyway? Sword and gunplay, that's IT. Otherwise just gets in the way. Nothing new announced by Double Fine productions. And to top it off, only two new games that got me interested in the whole freakin show.

(El Shaddai and Journey)

My biggest disappointment came from the level of excitement that Kevin Butler received. He is an ad man, made to say "You're too stupid to know what you need, so you're going to buy what I tell you to" in a slightly more round about and polite way. Maybe it's because I'm not American and I don't like that kind of character?
