Well, this Kotick fellow seems like quite the ass, but for those with short memories, This statement is 100% true

"Kotick accused EA of assimilating and rebranding all the studios it acquired rather than letting them keep their own internal cultures."

Or at least it was. I'm not entirely sure how EA operates these days, Trip Hawkins has been gone for a long time, and they have seemingly done some positive things. I doubt however that EA are quite the white knights that some people seem to think they are.

They seem to be adding more culture to their studios, if you will. There's the Partners Programme, where EA is essentially relegated to the role of distributor and promoter, and renaming companies (for example, from EA LA to Danger Close) during the recent reshuffle seems to me like they're trying to pull away from the old "assimilate and destroy" mentality. Their closure of Pandemic is still doing them no favours, however...

Hopefully it will fuel them to make games better than their rivals even more so that better games get released every month at a constant attempt to one up each other over this? If that fails there is always comedic value.

I can remember when it was EA that was the life sucking, game destroying evil corporation. I love how the company has changed and reacted to those comments, and completly just took down Kotick. We love ya EA, we really do.
