I wish we wouldn't get news articles like this. Kotick has it right that this stuff gets distorted and taken out of context, which then just fuels misinformed opinions on forums.

Having read both the full EA and Kotick interviews in Edge, Schafer just sounds like an ungrateful and spiteful twat. Did he really expect activision to continuously throw money at them to produce Brutal Legend despite it overly long development time and for the game which was created (Sure it looked unique, but overall it?s not particularly memorable). Even EA, who eventually published it, had so much confidence in the brand that they choose not to fund a sequel, funny that. To me, it seems like Kotick hit the nail on the head when he calls Brutal legend "not a particularly good game", especially with Schafer squealing that he should be attacked and not the final game.

Couldn't have put it better myself.

Actually, the score's more like

EA 2
Kotick -14

Back in April, EA zing'd Kotic with this little nugget:

"We don't have the time to comment on the many lawsuits Activision files against its employees and creative partners."

"It's sad is that instead of just insulting me personally, he goes after the product of my hard-working team - a group of people he almost put out of work a while back.

"But what's even sadder is that it took him two months to think of a comeback."

Oh, no! You didn't!

I think that EA just basically punched Kotick in the nose, so I really wanna see what he comes up with and if it is even close to what EA said about him, probabley not since it took him 2 months to come up with a comeback to Tim Schafer

It's official. Tim Schafer is the most likeable ahole I've ever seen. The guy's funny and seems pretty nice most of the time but geez. It was something Kotick said in a magazine so of course it would take something of a few months to get out...

And Brutal Legend isn't a great game anyways. It is solidly in good territory. And that is a BAD thing.

Here's an idea - if you don't want the people on your dev team to be ridiculed, HAVE THEM MAKE A BETTER GAME.
Opinion is subjective, I know so many people who LOVE the game. Its among my favourites.

uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh, what do i hate more then EA and activision being douche bags? them being douche bags to each other when both of them suck, for activision i think it speaks for itself so i'm not gonna post examples there, for EA, the fail that is command and conquer 4 tiberian twilight and the death of pandemic studios is more then enough

Anyone else mistakenly read the title as "Fires Bobby Kotick" and feel a little joy for a moment?

Anyone, nice to see developers getting into the line of Kotick bashing.
Yeah, same here. Would have been nice. Oh well. Maybe they'll sue each other into bankruptcy.

Then I'll celebrate by flying my golden rhinoceros to the 58th moon of Jupiter, where I will meet JFK and we will go hoverboarding in the Marshmallow Kingdom Of Monocles and Top-hats.

I'm struggling to think of an appropriate description. Either owned, bitchowned, sick burn or served. Or a hearty 'all of the above'.

EA made an awesome point here. It's true, Kotick can't deny it, try to be smart BK, but you can't, cause it's true. WoW=$$$, but none of your business, GH=dead since 3 and CoD is going to end soon, since november is only 1 month away now. There is no way of winning when you compare your game to Apocalypse now and Platoon... I don't compare my doodling-on-bookcovers to the Mona freaking Lisa, do I?

Is Kotick the one read by any-chance? It's nice to see big fancy corporate types acting like eight year olds.
