So EA is like a weapons dealer trading WMDs to both sides of a civil war? This cannot end well.

I never thought the console wars would actually entertain me, but I can't help but be amused at imagining EA going all "Excellent" over Sony and Microsoft battling each other.

Considering how much EA have stepped up their game since 2008, especially compared to MicroSony, A win for them is a win for us all.

Nintendo so far ahead? In the handheld market sure but the wii is an absolute bust.

There's a reason I bought my PS3. Its because my wii proved to be a huge waste of money.

nintendo already won :p I hope a new wii with a hardrive or soemthing comes out soon to replace my dead one.

but good to see ea taking advantage of a situation
Well, yes, Nintendo have already won, but 3rd party games generally do rather badly on the Wii for some reason... especially if their trying to cater to the 'hardcore' audience, hence why EA would be more interested in the PS3/360.

As for EA's response to the console war, I'm honestly not surprised, I'm sure thats what every publisher is pretty much thinking right about now. :p

By ahead, Westbrook means ahead in sales. So far, the Wii has sold almost as many consoles as the PS3 and 360 combined. For many years, the demand for it was so high that it constantly kept getting sold out. It was only in recent times that the demand has died down somewhat.

Anyway, it's kind of funny how the game industry has decided to cope with Wii's overwhelming success. It is so far ahead of the other two that they seem to have acknowledged it as the winner of this generation and switched their focus entirely on who is going to obtain second place. It's like when the New York Times made a special Best Selling Children's Book list just so they could remove Harry Potter from the Best Selling list.

Well, it's good to see EA showing it's true colours again. Oddly, it doesn't seem evil anymore, just a business man looking for a the next product. THIS is the EA I like, not that old vampire-overlord it used to be.

That description at the end of the article reminds me a lot of TF2. Huh.

It's odd, because I never really thought I'd see someone outright say it, but on the other hand it's kind of obvious.
