Hey, you guys remember in ME2 when that stuff happened? Good times...BrotherhoodOfSteel said:Dammit! That should be 2 000 001 copies sold!
My local EB Games didn't get enough copies to fufill all of the reseve orders there.
How does that happen!
*closes ears to make sure he doesn't hear ME2 spoilers*
...so you're complaining that the combat is better, even though I've yet to meet a single person who saw the combat in ME1 as something other than a necessary evil to get to the story? Whatever man, whatever.lockeslylcrit said:A shame the game blows compared to the original. If I wanted to play Gears of War, I'd play Gears of War. At least the story keeps it interesting.
I don't agree with that. There have been a lot of prolific games that have tried to beat us with the moral choice stick out of sheer bandwagon obligation. Fallout 3, GTA IV, BioShock... hell, Infamous made such a huge deal about it, but the resulting moral choice system just felt silly and forced. I'd say the modern gaming world would be quite different without the likes of KOTOR and Mass Effect. No one does it as well as BioWare, though; that much is certain.Grampy_bone said:Fantastic game? Yes. Influential? Hardly.
No one copies Bioware; no one even tries. It's too hard to do what they do how they do it, and everyone knows it.
Dommyboy said:Yet no DRM was required either for Mass Effect 2. Proof that piracy is not the main problem that developers face, but whether the game they create is actually good.
scotth266 said:Er, this has no mention of the number of pirated copies. So therefore there could have been 2 million in sales, but 5 million pirated copies for all we know.
The game wasn't only pirated on PC. Many people have modded Xboxes still and pirate games, it's just that the majority of pirates are PC gamers.Keivz said:Those aren't the PC numbers, mind; so it's hardly proof of anything. That being said, it's fairly obvious that game quality (and/or hype) trumps piracy when determining game sales.
I know that some people mod Xboxes to pirate games... and PS3s may be joining the piracy game soon to boot.Dommyboy said:Snip.
You haven't played The Witcher, have you.Suskie said:I don't agree with that. On topic, congrats are in order for ME2's success. They absolutely deserve it. Bring on the legions of people who pretend they're indifferent to the game because they don't own an Xbox 360!
Funny, I'm doing the same thing. >100+ hrs on DA, straight to another BioWare game, then another. ME1 is a replay though--with a renegade female Shepard this time.WanderFreak said:Damn it, I need to finish Dragon Age so I can start playing... Mass Effect 1.
Which means I should finally get to play the ME2 awesomeness in about... 63 years.
Agreed.JeanLuc761 said:Glad to hear it, Bioware completely deserves all the success they're having.
True. Though I disagree with perfect score of any game so far made by humanity. ME2 has been an large improvement over ME1, but not perfect.Crimsane said:For once, a game deserved all the hype.
I have...worst menu system this side of RPGs....and even TBS games 0-oKeivz said:You haven't played The Witcher, have you.Suskie said:I don't agree with that.
