It's nowhere near as stupid as this, but I remember the story of a man who would change his name after conducting an internet poll to decide what it would be. His name ended up being "Sunshine Megatron".

Gotta love the internet sometimes.
By which I mean the unnecessarily large population of 4chan.
Yeah...can see they are going to love this...

Has any of these people ever heard of the Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory? [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GIFT]

This is just asking for trouble. I hope they cut out the obviousely bad ideas.

To me, this just screams TERRIBAD GAME, because whenever something sget's rediculous stunts like this for it, it's too aweful to stand on the simple merit of being a good game.

See ex. Dante's Inferno.

I'm not impressed actually.

Pretty much everything they are letting people decide on is easily reversible. Piercings can be removed, as can tattoos. Chances are part of the agreement is for the company to reverse whatever is done as a result of the contest if they don't like it once it's over.

It's like this, if someone offered me a million dollars to have pictures of sex organs tatooed on my face and the image put on the internet, but would also pay for laser surgery to have them removed... well I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Now, I'd be much more impressed if they paid some guy to undergo radical reconstuctive cosmetic surgery along with this, along with the internet consensus about the piercings and tatoos. Basically something that couldn't be reversed.

Say offer some dude 10 million dollars to willingly be put into an artificially induced coma and be used as a blank slate for the internet... with no idea what he was going to look like when he woke up and his payment being contingent on him not reversing the granted apperance for as long as the game runs so he could appear as it's mascot.

So is it just tattoos? That's not too bad, I suppose, but still...

...it's the internet.

Too bad the game is already being pummeled by critics and players alike...

I had the giddy feeling that gaming was slowly gaining respectability as a hobby. Why exactly do the EA marketing drones want to drag the perception of gamers back into Mom's basement again?

Hey!

Sometimes we, the internet, are very responsible. Take as an example, if you will, our collective decision to send Justin Bieber to North Korea.
Yep, we deserve a cookie!
But if you think of it, what has poor North Korea done to us to deserve Justin Bieber? Couldn't we spare them the suffering and just send him to the Moon?

Wait, so you can draw tattoos (or probably upload them too) onto your avatar in APB, oh god. I'm seeing lots of shock photos for the future of APB. That is, if a lot of 4chan get it. Oh god, what if they make him into the human caterpillar from the movie, I know they probably won't allow it because it involves multiple people or that it's just too fucked up, but just what if they could.
You cant upload pictures, and 4 chan is already on it. "******" and swastikas make up about 50% of the clothing on the market.
Though, its really not that bad in game.
