What's the point of spending way too much money on a social media company if you can't shadow-squelch criticism about yourself on it?

He's not actually the only shareholder. Second biggest is a Saudi prince, for example. Last I checked, they're not above having people murdered.
Then again, considering Twitters role in civil rights movements and dissent in that region, helping put Musk in charge by wasting a few billion might be worth it to them.

As for the drama: it sucks so much happened on the set. Amber is one thing and was unavoidable, but I wasn't expecting Mamoa to be drunk on the set.

I think you've sot of answered your own question, he's desperate to be seen as important and omnipresent so he has to get involved in everything and make things worse in a headliney way.
The suspicion is that he's a massive narcissist, and he can't stop himself from trying to grab people's attention.
