Enslaved Wants to Own Your Wallet With Its Collectors Edition
Enslaved looks like it might get some help dominating Europe thanks to its recently-announced Collector's Edition.
Enslaved: Odyssey of the West seemed to come out of nowhere this summer and <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/101459-E3-2010-Enslaved-Odyssey-to-the-West-Hands-on>sufficiently impressed Greg when he spent some time with it at E3. The upcoming action-adventure from Ninja Theory sounds pretty fun and creative, and Namco Bandai is sweetening the deal for European gamers with its recently-announced Collector's Edition.
The Enslaved: Collector's Edition includes a special case, a book full of concept art, and a copy of the game's soundtrack (composed by pop musician <a href=http://www.nitinsawhney.com/nitinsawhney/Home.html>Nitin Sawhney). For the moment, this is exclusive to Europe and no price tag has been announced.
If you're unfamiliar with Enslaved, the game is an action-adventure set in a lush post-apocalyptic world where humanity is nearly extinct and dangerous wild robots roam the lands. Its story is loosely based on <a href=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Journey_to_the_West>Journey to the West, starring a warrior named Monkey who is temporarily enslaved by a young woman named Trip in order to help her survive the wastelands until she returns home.
I'm a sucker for art books, mainly because I'm always on the lookout for new ideas when it comes to my own illustration work, so I would definitely pick this package up if it becomes available on my side of The Pond before its October release. At the moment, Namco Bandai hasn't hinted at a Collector's Edition for North America, but if you <a href=http://www.amazon.com/Enslaved-Odyssey-West-Xbox-360/dp/B00319DX4W/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1282937028&sr=8-3>pre-order the game through Amazon you'll get access to the game's soundtrack.
