Player choices will once again have an impact on events in the game, and the songs and music will also change depending on whether Mickey is "well-mannered or michievous."
Can't we just call it Paragon and Renegade? Then maybe it can have a terribly tenuous and dissapoting ending that fans hate.

Oh wait...

... Did it? Never played Kingdom Hearts, so I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. Considering most JRPG voice-acting though, it probably wasn't fantastic.

Still, I'm sold on this. Even better now that it's on the xbox, means I don't have to dig out my wii. Maybe they'll release the original as an arcade game too sometime later?
It was the thing that me most fan of Kingdom Hearts 2 cringe and the reason why a good portion of fan of the series prefer the first. Plus you had to go back there 3 times and do musical quick time events

3 times, you had to do that kind of gameplay 3 times in a fast action rpg

"The new game will offer "drop-in, drop-out co-op" play, with Mickey still wielding his magical paint brush while Oswald has a remote control that can command electricity. "

Will the new game have tighter controls and a less infuriating camera?

The first game had "drop in drop out" game play it was called the terrible jumping controls and hit detection.

Let me backtrack on this.

I like Epic Mickey in theory. It's a great concept and It's one of the 3 Wii titles I've played all the way to the end.

But the fact that I made it to the end was due entirely to the oddball concept of the game and my own animation nerd proclivities.

The game controlled like crap on toast and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

They already stated that there will be better camera. I think it will work like Super Mario Galaxy.

Well, the music in the first game was good, but will they get a good lyricist?

Also, Frank Welker is a voice acting GOD! He not only voices Megatron, but also... More characters then I can even list... Here's his filmography, though:

I don't even like Disney, but I want this. The original vision for Epic Mickey sounded good too, though. Let's hope they don't change up a good idea again.

Wow they gave him another one to make... that is just extraordinary.
Epic Mickey 2 from the same team who fucked up everything in the last one and then denied it all, now turning it into a musical... well what could possibly go wrong.

At this point I wonder if making it a Gears clone and being published by EA could actually make it worse at all.

...that was awesome!

Seriously, I don't see the problem. The song is in the classic Disney mould, meaning it's a fantastic piece of compositional work. The fact that you can actually get involved and play a Disney song in a game? Shit yeah!

Honestly, considering how important music is the Disney canon, they should do more of that.
I'd be ok with music themed games, but can games that have a huge focus on music be more than a series of quick-time events/timed button presses?

Yay, I'm just happy its coming to the other console systems. Hopefully, it will be better than the first one? Avoiding what doomed a possible epic title.

Frank Welker isn't better known as the voice of Megatron, but the voice of about half the animated characters you've seen on TV or in the movies since the '70s. He's a God-damned legend.
Sure, Welker has done a ton of voices, but there's no way you can convince me that just about everyone who recognizes the name doesn't immediately think "Megatron" for a split-second every time they hear it.
I always think "Scooby!" (Or "Fred!") personally.
Same. In my case, it's probably a generational thing. (I'm in my 40s.)

I'm only twenty, but my mother had the good taste to raise me on some of the older cartoons from her childhood. :)

Well, it worked for Mass Effect 2, didn't it? [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bj0iJtgHOCI]

In all seriousness, I'm intrigued by this choice. Hopefully they'll be able to strike that meticulous balance of cheesiness and charm that seems to make musicals successful.

Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge was the only legitimate musical game I've ever seen, curious to see how this turns out.
