Seriously, this has been going on since MMOs began. And then in MUDs. And then in BBSs.

BUT WoW must be clean! Unlike it's CEO [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.223071-Activision-CEO-Bobby-Kotick-Loses-Lengthy-Legal-Battle?page=1]

And VE MUST DEFINE IT AS ERP, AND NOT HAVE ANY ERP SERVERS.

RP IS BAD. VE MUST KILL ZESE VERMIN!

Jeezus, can someone please tell Acti/Bliz about boys and girls, because they don't seem to know.

as sad as this is, it was inevitable. sooner or later the collection of people wanting to do stripping would band together and do it in specific places. i think a better idea would be to not police it, but make a mini expansion as an update, making a couple places a seperate world, requiring over 18 authorization and blocking all communication from leaking into the "public" world. this would warn people and make all "my kid wandered in here and i dont want him doing that, so you need to do something about it while i continue not being a parent" completly null and void

Oh come on! Now hows an Orc supposed to get some coin?!

:p

I remember going to an inn somewhere as an orc, and seeing lots of naked female dancers dancing for money. So I decided to join them. And a naked dancing orc got more money then the naked dancing blood elves. They got pissed, then I laughed at them.

Never try to outdance an Orc.

Suddenly I can see a GM running up to a bunch of players and yelling "What's going on here?!" and the group pretending that they totally didn't just get out of that parked horse.

I haven't played WoW in almost a year and I find this really funny.
I did not play on a RP server and I never came accross anything like this.
Of course I also played with all chat channels turned off excpet for guild chat.
If you don't turn off all the channels, all you hear is disgusting racism, sexism, and homophobia. And I think that is a much more ugly problem than some folks getting kinky on a RP server.

Its rated Teen, even before you go online, anything online is AT LEAST 18+, simply because you can't control what other people may do or say.

I do find it rather strange, doing stuff like that publicly where others can see, it's against the rules and surely would get you warned or banned, especially when you could just simply move it over to a messenger program or something. So to me, the only reason it happens publicly is that they are trolling and want to offend people for 'lulz', sadly.

Really, as with so many idiots in so many areas of the online world, 'report and move on' is the only sensible option. Do what you like between consenting people, but the moment you're annoying or offending others, you're causing trouble.

So what do you think they will do now? They will all just go fill out their fantasies in the woods somewhere.

This is the part where I say ALLIANCE ARE FAGS. But srsly what could he have possibly seen that he would consider "beyond offensive." The game is rated T for gods sake.

Totally agreed. But that would be wrong to stop their "FREEDOM OF SPEECH".

Kinkiness? in my MMO? THAT MUST BE BANNED.

I can see a LOT of Alt's being created in Goldmoon/Silvermoon now though...maybe that's what the real agenda is?

I mean, what is an ERP(sounds like a burp)-cop actually going to do to "offenders".

Why don't they just create a digital bouncer for that particular bar and keep out all users under 18? Seems simple enough to me.

But then again, this is why I don't go on MMOs. If me and my freinds wanted to have a nudist stripper party, we'd have a nudist stripper party - no kids allowed. "God" or something isn't going to come down from the sky and shut the thing down.

Why can't MMOs be more libertarian? You create the world, let the players control the history. Who gives a shit what they do with it? As a matter of fact, the only thing Blizzard should be doing here is patrolling for illegal downloaders who walking into the World without paying. Beyond that, let them do what they want. If they hack the game to have a bazooka, yet them have a bazooka. Let things unfold as they will.
If they do that then it will ruin the experience for the other players and since Blizzard wants everyone to keep paying their $15 a month, they aren't about to let something happen that they don't want to that might harm their cashflow.

Which is exactly why I don't play MMOs. "Let's give the players a world of endless possibilities - but then cut back on those possibilities the moment it destroys our vision for what this world should be". Blizzard is full of shit, and you all know it.

I HATE World of Warcraft with a passion. All the players are so immature it's not even funny.

Because much as in real life you can always find a few people happy to spoil what others are trying to peacefully enjoy. I expect an MMO like that would quickly devolve into feral chaos (a la Lord of the Flies), and in any case it isn't the world Blizzard designed.
