You can only discover a new room each day. Once you discover the next room, you may come back 12:00am EDT the next day to continue exploring the mansion. Reloading the mansion prior to that time will not have any effect on your game play or score.tippy2k2 said:Dang..."I re-entered" the mansion by refreshing the page, now I'm back in the room I started in, losing the room I opened, and I still can't do anything.
This is a text based horror adventure game. Read the dialogue box that appears upon clicking a room in order to determine the encounters you have as you explore the mansion in search of an exit. Encountering and killing a monster will give you another chance to continue exploring the mansion (ie - another click on the revealed room). Discovering a way out into another room will end your experience for that day.Omega Scythe said:After seeing your score, I went to look at the mansion again. There was a section of the wall missing to reveal a room; I clicked on it, it revealed another room, and I got a dialogue box. And then......nothing. I clicked everywhere, and nothing?RagnaThePig said:The leaderboard says I am first with 14 points already, Obviously, the game is not working correctly.
Hooray for non-brain-scented tape! I am so glad The Escapist office is fully stocked for the zombie apocalypsepaulgruberman said:It has been patched with non-brain-scented tape, and the point result should now properly record when interacting with it.
The "Undead Monster" badge referred to in the event's "How to Play" was originally named "Denizen of Nightmare Mansion." It has now been renamed "Undead Monster" in order to avoid confusion.Selerik said:Also, they must have the 'Undead Monster' badge on their profile to be clicked... I haven't seen anyone with THAT badge yet.

Caramel Frappe said:Nice to also see that the layout and decoration for the whole game alone is well designed. And thanks for making the Leaderboard bigger since many of us from the El Shaddai contest suggested it...s0osleepie said:Snip
Thank you for noticing the improvements we made based on feedback from prior events!! We make sure to review all feedback and constructive criticism from the community and try to improve each community event based on them. Above everything else, we want these events to be a fun interactive event that adds to the community experience on The Escapist. As we attempt to grow these events in size and complexity for your enjoyment, we will not always get it 100% right 100% of the time. But I can assure you, we are always trying our hardest to do soErana said:Honestly, this is a much better option for peoples' sanity. You don't have to hammer at the Escapist constantly to still have a chance.
At this point, the only way to monitor this is by refreshing the leaderboard. Unfortunately, the only other options that were available to us was either a PM for every click or a pop-up. We thought both of these options would be too annoying for our community. No one likes spam or pop-ups. If we are able to implement a better way with the time and resources available to us, we will. No promises though.tippy2k2 said:Is there any way (or will there be any way) to tell if you defeated the monster clicking on the badge? I've noticed each time I've done it, I have to go back to the Leaderboard to see if my score changes, there does not seem to be any kind of feedback.
You will only be able to click on the badge once.Vamantha said:Can we click on someone's monster badge only once or is the badge clicking a daily thing?
The refresh shows the completion of you saving/not saving someone. You can check the leaderboard [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/content/riseofnightmares/leaderboard] to see where you are standing.RagnaThePig said:Clicking on someone's Undead Monster Badge is still not working for me. The page is refreshed and then nothing.
Oh ok... I guess what bothers me is the complete lack of message saying something actually happened.ThyNameIsMud said:The refresh shows the completion of you saving/not saving someone. Your clicking the "Help me! Please!" badge AKA the "Save me" badge. You only want to click on the "Undead Monster" badge. :3Musashi inc said:Not sure what do, but perhaps it's time to pull an Ash and figure it out as I go? The whole thing is difficult to figure out, no matter how many times I click the badges nothing ever happens, it sends me right back to the house. (Yes I am clicking other people's badges..)
The 'Help me' badge shows someone is playing in the event, but in order to get the monster badge you'll need to defeat a monster.Vamantha said:Also, why do some people have "Help me! Please" badge, but not the "Undead Monster" badge?
I believe you might be clicking on the wrong badge. The one you'll need to clicking on looks like this:Musashi inc said:Not sure what do, but perhaps it's time to pull an Ash and figure it out as I go? As a slight further clarification, that means a monster in the mansion. (I think)ThyNameIsMud said:The 'Help me' badge shows someone is playing in the event, but in order to get the monster badge you'll need to defeat a monster.Vamantha said:Also, why do some people have "Help me!
