Well, now it is looking like a choice between this and the new "torture porn extravaganza"... so yeah, I am just staying home for my horror movies this year.

99% of audiences don't understand what good horror is. Most people see some spooky moments and poorly lit scenes as scary. Pathetic.

Horror;

"1
a : painful and intense fear, dread, or dismay <astonishment giving place to horror on the faces of the people about me ? H. G. Wells>
b : intense aversion or repugnance
2
a : the quality of inspiring horror : repulsive, horrible, or dismal quality or character <contemplating the horror of their lives ? Liam O'Flaherty>
b : something that inspires horror
3
plural : a state of extreme depression or apprehension"
The first one actually did this rather well, I saw it recently and frankly it's subtle threats and malicious promises were rather refreshing.
Especially when weighed up against the more modern horror film which does things just to make you go "Ewww blood".
It's definitely a good movie to watch if you're looking for a horror flick and haven't seen it.

Sadly horror movies have that "Ghost train effect", the first time you'll jump and get a scared. However once you know where all the guys in costumes are waiting to jump out at you on, you really aren't to bothered by it any more.
I could tell from this off that PA2 wouldn't be as good as the first one, I may take a look at it though.
If only for a quick jump here and there.

I hated the first movie and couldn't believe how everyone thought it was scary or even thrilling. You pretty much could call anything that happened if you had spent even a second on TV Tropes or watched any "horror" movies at all. So this review only reaffirmed my decision not to waste my money on it. I still regret that dollar I gave to the first one

..Yeah, I expected little more of this.

And I swear, if they attempt a third "3D" movie, someone (whomever makes it) is getting a horribly written very grammatically accurate Hallmark card expressing my utter disdain for their existence.

Man, couldn't watch past the spoiler alert. Don't really care for spoiling the second one, but if the ending of the first is 'spoiler-able', then I'm gonna wait and actually SEE the first one.

Also, chuckled @ "Significantly moah then fifteen grænd". I always forget it's his natural accent, so I almost think he's imitating somebody XD

I really disliked the first one, so I'm in no rush to see this. Decent review. Not much to work with, I assume.

The movie was OK. All the build up was kind of annoying since we all know what's going down already. I jumped like 3 times, which was twice more than the first, so I guess that's something. I thought it was better than the first, and probably would have liked it if it wasn't a sequel.

Something that REALLY irks me is that vibration thing that happens when the demon is around. I mean, on one hand it builds suspense, since you are like "Oh shit, something is gonna happen", but how much scarier would it be if it just HAPPENED. No buzz, no real build up, just BAM. Some of the "scares" might have been scarier if we hadn't known they were coming.

A thought: Would that mean people who have not watched the original would enjoy this movie?
First of all, thank you for being nearly the ONLY person who's not completely tearing at the movie! But to answer your question (sorta): Not sure. The second one takes place before, during, and after the first one, right? So it should be on a bigger scale. But if they don't see the first one, they won't understand the importance of Micah and Katie. So basically this franchise wrote it's own death sentance with this sequel. The best advice I can give is to see the first one. JUST the first one. Too bad for me, the temptation is too great, I'm gonna go see it. I mean, it's all a matter of taste, anyway. But back to your question. Only one way to find out. My mom wants to celebrate her birthday by going to see the movie. And she hasn't seen the first one. So I'm gonna see how that goes.

I dunno about anyone else but I never saw the ending that they showed in American Cinema, I only saw the ending over here where Katie muders Micah and then sits in her bedroom for two days straight rocking back and forth untill the police come in and shoot her, killing her instantly. The whole ending where she throws the body at the camera and then goes all scary eyed at it was actualy added afterwards by the studio and is in my opinion much less real feeling and quite frankly, silly. So the fact that the second film insists on inserting Katie into the film when in my continuity (as far as my country is concerned) She's dead by the end of film one, makes the whole thing basicaly unwatchable.

Wonder if it will be a trilogy or not.
Paranormal Activity 3D I'm guessing.

Although that would be scary...unless of course you don't think the 3D would work well while someone gets thrown out of a doorway...

Regardless i'll be seeing this, almost certainly, it's Bob's personal opinion on the movie, doesn't mean we shouldn't watch it though...and I'm a sucker for these things...

Jacket...Check.

Coke with a straw...Check.

No Bagged sweets/popcorn...Check.

Horror movie here i come.

It's an occurring thing that Ghosts/Demons always interfere with electrical equipment...Apparently

While you are right, they were probably jumping on the Realistic bandwagon.

The first one was fine until the end where...
she tosses him up the stairs, into the camera, and then proceeds to try to eat him or whatever she does. But the alternate ending one when the police come in and she kills them and runs away afterward.
So I hoped this movie would be better. But so far, it doesn't look that way.

I went into PA1 hoping to get scared. It never happened. In fact, that one scene that Bob made reference to with the flour and the footprints? I thought it was Big Bird from Sesame Street. So I doubt I'll watch PA2...I know I'll eventually watch it because I like how the first one was made, with the camera and such. But this is not horror...there is nothing more to see here, move along.
