Does it upset anyone else that Captain toad has stolen Toad's color scheme?
Where as Toad has taken on "blue dots" for no apparent reason?

There is a very simple reason why the T-1000 never did that before.

Animating that in 1990 would of been absurdly expensive. Most of the T1000 effects were actually pratical, only a tiny percent of it was done using CGI. Making something melty? Doable in the time. Taking part of a model, detaching it, then throwing it out, without it looking horrible? Haha, no.

Wow, I didn't even KNOW they were making another Terminator movie! And from what Bob says, it actually looks AWESOME. TWO Arnies, the return of the T-1000 (let's face it, it was too cool an idea for it to be completely forgotten after only 1 movie) and the timestream gone completely snooker-loopy. Could this be a return to the glory of T2?

As rare as it is, I find that I'm almost entirely in agreement with Bob on this.

I'm hopelessly optimistic about Jurassic World and The Force Awakens. I was mostly apathetic towards the two films, when first I heard of them, but the more I've seen and heard from their respective productions the more optimistic I've become.

Here's hoping they turn out even half as good as I hope they do. (and yes, I think the claymore light-saber looks bad-ass)

As for the new Terminator, like Bob I'm on the fence. I see some promising ideas being bandied about in the trailer, but something about it also feels....slightly off. There's potential for a great series retelling/expansion/reboot, but the production team will have to tread carefully.

As someone who's not a big fan of either of these franchises, these are just kind of OK trailers. Like, they don't really stand out. More just a collection of images rather than telling a story.

But that Mad Max trailer from earlier this year? Blew me away. Seen it like a dozen times. The hero not getting to be a hero throughout the trailer. Badass women posse. Interesting scenarios with the stilts and car warfare. The weather playing a role. I don't think I've even seen a Mad Max movie in full, but that trailer is a thing of beauty both in visuals and audio editing:

I absolutely hated the ending shot of the Falcon in the Force Awakens trailer. Its in a dogfight with TIE Fighters, pulling off big moves yet the camera is so far up the tailpipe and swooping around and twisting with the ship we don't actually see anything cool.

Its trying so hard to look cool without showing cool.

These three trailers all impressed the heck out of me too. Terminator in particular really caught me by surprise. The idea of an in-canon reboot is pretty interesting and it's a great property to work with such a concept.

Also I will never be able to unsee the flying Fudgecicle. So thanks.
The interesting thing is the tv show (which I didn't really watch much of) kind of dealt with a similar idea, the time line getting messed up, things changing.

I hadn't seen any of the Genisys trailer until now. I'm not sure what I think.

Jurassic Parkworld and Star Wars had me reacting in the same way. Laughing where I shouldn't have. Well, where they didn't intend. At last Star Wars had that end shot with the Falcon, which at least gave me a nostalgia pop. Jurassic totallynotpark was more "eh, it's cool to see these things again, I guess."

The Star Wars trailer wasn't great for me, but the bit with the X-wings and the end piece with the Falcon made up for the ridiculous lightsaber and droid designs.
I think that's more or less what they were counting on.

Going out on a limb and saying I didn't like the Star Wars Trailer largely for the reasons Bob liked it. It served little to my interests instead waving flags of "look at out special effects" and "look, we're inclusive." Before the social justice crowd chews me out, listen for a minute. I'm old enough to remember a time of tokenism. You know, hiring one black guy, or woman, or whatever less on their merits, and more as a prop to say how equal opportunity you are, and there was a time we were smart enough to see that as racism / sexism because you just saw the person as a prop to wave around and deflect bad press. A trailer should get me into the story, but for all this one did, I didn't know the character or why I should give a shit beyond someone making a rifftrax style comment about how the black stormtrooper should probalby head straight tot he morgue. Until I see something where he comes off less an attempt to deflect casting controversy, and more a character, I'm left saying "bad Star Wars, Bad."

Jurassic World looks fun, but strikes me as a movie that could easily get lost in feeling creative for it's special effects and dino combos, to the point of forgetting the plot.

Terminator looks like my kind of bad fun. I'm a sucker for convoluted time travel paradox stories and given the series has always had a few things that don't quite add up (why didn't skynet send the cool Terminator after Sarah) it's nice to see them double down and have fun with it. And in refrence to the above, this is how you do it because I'm left thinking the T1000 looks badass and not only thinking the T1000's korean.

But seriously though... The villain in Terminator is an Asian guy who doesn't have spiky hair or kicky kicks! Progress!

I was a little pissed off when I saw the new Terminator trailer, seemed to me that Hollywood was just taking a massive dump all over a sci-fi classic just to make more money. But I am surprised that you're putting a positive spin on this and it encourages me to have a more open mind about it.

However, I can't forget how I thought the A-Team movie was going to suck only for you to give it a thumbs up. I was planning on avoiding it like the plague, but I wound up taking my dad to see it for Father's Day it it was AWESOME!

Is Terminator: Ahnold Still Thinks He's Got It still going to suck? I wouldn't be surprised, but I never again want to be the guy who dismisses something out of hand before, you know, actually seeing for myself whether any negative thoughts are warranted.

I am very excited for the Deadpool movie but I don't blame you for not being thrilled Bob. Even if the movie is true to the character it could wind up being one of those "look how wacky our main character is" movies. Personally I am choosing to be optimistic that Deadpool will be a fun movie.

I heard once that Ryan Renyolds wanted it to be a musical, that would be amazing.

Same. Out of all these sequels/reboots/whatever Mad Max really is the one I am trully interested in seeing with the intention of watching a good movie, I wanted to like these trailers but Star Wars has some dumb stuff in it and the last shot seems taken out of Star Trek with the complete lack of saturation, Jurassic World looks cool for a 10 year old, and Terminator just looks dumb in all its entirety,

I think the crossbar on the saber would be cooler if not for the metal bits jutting out of the hilt. Those are the weak points, and make it much too weak to rely on. Otherwise, yea, I kind like it. And yes, Millenium Falcon porn, gotta love it. Heh.

Jurassic World looks dumb, but fun. I can get behind that. I mean, I really liked Expendables 2, so what does that say? Never saw the others though, got everything I wanted out of 2.

Terminator just looks like a great way to redo the series, Sarah Connor as a bad ass out the gate? I'm actually excited about it, and I totally wrote that series off after T2.

Anyways, good show, thanks Bob.

I do believe people WILL see all three regardless of reviews.
I wouldn't bet on it. Jurassic Park, Terminator and Star Wars have already had multiple sequels, and for the most part they didn't do all that well. Terminator 2 was obviously great, but 3 and 4 had both sucky reviews and sucky box office returns (about twice their budget in both cases, which means they just about broke even). The Jurassic Park sequels weren't flops as such, but neither did anywhere near as well as the first film, with the second not making much more than half the first, and the third only making half again of that. The Star Wars prequels were certainly not flops either, but again they didn't do anywhere near as well as many people seem to think. Adjusted for inflation [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars#Box_office_performance], all three made significantly less money than any of the original trilogy, indeed, the original Star Wars is listed as the third highest grossing film of all time. Particularly telling is that the last two Star Wars films both made significantly less than The Phantom Menace did; people may have just blindly rushed out to see a new Star Wars film at one point, but clearly they've learned their lesson.

I don't expect any of these films to be huge flops, but neither do I think it can be taken for granted that they're going to be raking in the cash. They're all franchises with established histories of having less successful sequels, and many people are really starting to get tired of the constant efforts to cash in on blind nostalgia.
