I was most unfortunately detained by the very not fun-ness of cracked ribs. :(
Seriously????? What happened?
Well the injury happened during Metallicas set at Sonisphere, I slipped and got a little trampled by the crowd.
I did the sensible thing and ignored it in favor of the 2 days of music festival left, got home, In A&E for less than an hour (suck it NHS haters.)

Normally I can manage but on the Friday morning I was in so much pain I couldn't move. So, maybe next year!

Should have met up with Revelo, Andalusa and Captain Oblivious.

Glad to hear you're alright though. I actually sent that update after seeing a Lennon pic up on one of the side streets. How long before you're back to full health?

Ribs can take months to heal...
And I'm almost out of the painkillers the hospital gave me :(

Just because you and Tilly were writing slash :p
Slander.

I was a subject of slash fiction. An angry soul who fell in love with a fellow irishman abroad.
It was beautiful and I cried.
Sam G said:
Unbeknownst was it to I that my dearest Tilly was also present among my escort, for a pair of reasons - first and foremost was that Tilly Monkfish waits for no man, not even when he's supposed to be traveling as part of a group, and had ultrawalked off ahead of the rest of the group like the mighty man-stallion that he was, and is today - and the second is that he doesn't actually look anything like I had expected. I will confess that I - like a number of you other forumgoers, probably - pretty much expected him to look like a pale, hornless version of his Karkat avatar; this was in no way aided by the fact that Tilly acted based under the religious belief most Irishmen follow that when he was photographed, a part of his soul was stolen. In actuality, young Tilly was almost comparable to a much shorter and more irish-looking Steven Stills (illustration included below):
I have a more accurate picture I made that looks exactly like I do.

You will note I do not have ears to lick.
This is a new thing about me.

Back in Holland. Tired. Slept for 14 hours. Should probably talk about Escapism now.

*Takes 3 cups of coffee*

Much better.

I set afoot in England on the 21st, together with my parents. We checked in at a hotel just outside Russel Square and used the spare time to check out the area around the Thames before it got dark(that bigass clock tower you English people got is loud, I tell you).

Sunrise. 22nd of July. The big day.
Since it was my first time in England and having no idea how the trains work(I can almost predict @SamG would say 'Magic all up in this *****' right about now) I asked @Cpt. Oblivious to travel along with me to put me at ease. Him looking like a rocker with a Spartan haircut didn't bother me.

We found our train, waved goodbye at my parents and settled for a comfortable ride through the countryside, catching up on eachother about where we lived, why we called ourselves by nickname and why the train had thousands of beeps and whistles that didn't appear to have any value but annoyance.

It roughly took us 2 hours to get in Manchester Piccadilly, already getting troubles since the toilets didn't accept Euros(and I didn't have small change at the time) plus the fact we didn't find anyone who was supposed to take us to the hostel. Yay for communication I guess.

After a few calls, tweets and some random walking about, we were greeted by @Revelo, @FamoFunk, @FlyingPeanut and @The Red Spy, who did what he does best, IE spying on us from a distance and making pictures.

After a small walk we arrived at Hatter's Hostel, a lovely little place with lots and lots and lots and lots and LOTS of stairs. There we met @Sky14kemea, @SamG, @Insanum, @The Cheezy one, @The_root_of_all_evil, @StarStruckStrumpets (Sorry for the tacklehug there) and some others whose names I constantly keep forgetting.

I'll put up some pictures, then I'll talk on.

Dammit. The one week I spend house-sitting for my parents, and it's when escapism is. Also, when Batman Live plays in Newcastle, which'd be the only other chance I got to see it.

Fate is Batman-blocking me. I do not approve.

Is it bad I am thinking of everyone who sang the Pokemon theme on Friday night? xD
I motherfucking really, really wish we'd gotten a video of that. My reckoning is that next year we're just gonna have to film everything that we ever do, just in case something similar happens again.

Alright, I hope Photobucket did it's job. Let's show some pictures I made shall we?

From left to right: Revelo, FamoFunk, Insanum, Tilly and thenumberthirteen.

From left to right(again): FrostyCoolSlug, Cpt. Oblivious, The Cheezy One, StarStruckStrumpets, Trivun, FamoFunk again and GLo Jones.

Feeling tired, FlyingPeanut?

Probably because he was bored.

You can just feel their nerd-sense tingling...

Sky's a very camera-shy lass, so it kind of became a challenge to get her on lens.

Wow, that is quite alot of stuff on one wall alone.

So.. many... books...

From left to right: Sky14kemea, GLo Jones, me (Segadroid), Jedoro and Eleuthera .

More coming soon!

Agreed so much. I wish I took more photo's, but with it being my first time meeting everyone I really didn't want to shout orders about telling everyone to smile for my camera. Hence all my photo's being taken when I was intoxicated ;.;

I came here to ask for more photo's - they're here!

Well isn't that just typical. I bet you have sleepovers at each other's houses just to play TF2, too.

This is like the third year in a row I wanted to go but didn't. I probably won't go next year, either. Socialising takes way too much effort, and loads of coercion to be allowed to go.

Not when he's been attacked by sandvich.

We actually jumped onto the Escapist servers and started killing noobs. That's after the twenty minutes it took to update TF2.

Dammit Canada, if you weren't so big I'd suggest we have something similar! I'm not about to spend the cash to fly to Britain though >.>

Gah, I keep trying to post in this thread but it fails. xD

I'm sad that I didn't take any pictures myself this year, but I'm glad others picked up the slack for me.

I really miss everyone already (v;^;)^ I wanted us to just all live together forever.

but alas.... I hope to see people next year, and hopefully some new faces too ^^

And I finally made it back home as well (a little while ago actually, but I had to read this entire thread first).

I had a great time everyone, I'll see what I can do about uploading my pictures tomorrow (I think I only took 2 though) definitely will be back next year.
