The Escapist forum is a very dynamic place. New threads are made, old threads are closed, new faces join us and some old faces are never seen again. And amidst it all, we continue to navigate this eclectic maze looking for friends, fun, user groups and intelligent discussion. This is probably why Inverse Skies made the first Community Thread back in 2009 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.106553-The-Escapist-Members-Community-Thread?page=1] followed shortly by Sleekgiant [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.221835-Escapist-Members-Community-Thread-Mk-II-Feedback-is-Appreciated?page=1] with a reboot for the new year.

The Community Thread is a guide, for old and new members alike to find their way to all the major threads, popular threads and integral threads with ease. In doing so, the hope is to achieve a sprucer forum where the same thread isn't repeated over a number of times while also linking what the community thinks are deserving threads into one convenient spot.

So, how does this work you may be wondering? Simple.

You, the community, decides what threads deserve to be on here and what threads that have meant the most to the community. This is an active process and one that requires your input. So if you think there is a thread that deserves mention feel free to bring it to my attention and I'll add it to the list below!

Also, as a final note - this thread works best if bookmarked (Bookmark tab, top right of page) as it will put the thread at the top of the forum for you. Easy access all round.

[HEADING=1]Necro Thread Suggestions[/HEADING]
Thanks to Berethond for this idea, once again.

The latest suggestion is to introduce a section for the necroing of threads, threads which crop up often (ie favorite movie, what instrument do you play etc) which rather than creating a new repeat thread should just be necroed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Great thread.
In terms of user groups, I'd add Asylum Open Mic to the list.
It is the greatest off-topic group there is.

Yeah, I figured as such. Though the stellar work that has gone into it by no means diminishes the reason for me to expose it to the limelight (albeit for the third time).

That said, if you want me to take it down I will.

Woah, brill thread! This will be really handy in navigating all the topics in off-topic. Bookmarking now

Suggestion: Perhaps some content from the User Review section would be cool. I think people who write reviews should make a case in this thread and if you or we all agree it can be added in.

Anything that would sum up all the new and exciting things happening in User reviews I guess, at least that way it can fit in the OP. I just thought links to any new events, competitions, published reviews, most commented reviews, etc.

I think if it was possible to summarise the interesting bits of User reviews (like a massive review off or something), in this thread, it could boost traffic to user reviews while also having your work celebrated here.

Well then, here's one User Group that the OP can add, if he chooses to do so.

One of which is the <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Review-Wars>Review Wars group, which has a competition every now and then.

I would also suggest to add the review archives, <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.244646-Escapist-Community-User-Review-Index-Films-Books-TV-Shows-Anime-Music>here and <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.244647-Escapist-Community-User-Review-Index-Video-Games>here, as they are handy threads.

That's about all I think I can add from the User Review section, without <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/2-50-Reviews>shamelessly promoting my own review user group. Which of course, you know, I'd never do. ;)

For the record though they are pretty cool. Thanks to you and the OP for sharing.

I would suggest perhaps the "Your avatar has come to life thread" it's seeming to become like the "pimp your gun" thread where as lots of views, lots of participation and fun. I'll let the others vote on it though maybe even the OP of that thread.

Good work overall, I call this to be stickied!

As a side note, who organizes those review wars? You or pimp or New Classic? Hopefully we'll see one soon.

Last one was organized by Maet, although that was because Pimp had left the site at that time. I can only assume that one of those two will be organizing the next one. I sure won't be, I don't have the time, what with my own review series, plus another one I'm thinking about starting, not to mention school. >_>
