Escapists, Are you unemployed or lucky enough to still be employed?

A pretty simple question for the masses, i was just curious to how many of my fellow escapists are either unemployed, are lucky enough to still have a job, or unfortunately are being made redundant in the near future.

For myself, i've been out of work for 16 months. I'm currently only claiming Job Seekers Allowance (which is only just covering my expenditures), and live in the middle of no where meaning any job aspects here are pretty slim at best. I'd also like to add the help and advice i've been given from the Job Centre to either be next to useless/irrelevant.

So, How are you all coping and have you had any help if any in helping you get back into the work force?

I am lucky enough to still have my Paper round. 100 of us were layed off in the midlands and my friend was one of them.

Calumon: ...It is very hard to take that seriously if your gonna talk about delivering newspapers.

I've been unemployed for quite some time now. But I have just filled out an application form two days ago I hope to get a response soon.

Currently employed, I'll try to stay that way since my Bravia TV still has to be paid, and my car insurance is more expensive every day

I was out of work for most of last year, not including a few temp jobs. I spent a hell of a lot of time on here during those days.

I got a full-time job last October and still have it now. It sucks, but it's better than unemployment.

I do not envy my friends leaving University this year. It is quite possibly going to be the worst year for finding jobs in the UK in a long time. Especially considering all the cuts the government is making to cut the debt the country is in.

I finish my final year of university this summer (law & criminology), so I'll have to look for a job, even though I have no idea what I want to do for the next 40 years of my life.

Employed for well over 4 years now. Whether you can say I'm lucky enough to be so is highly debatable.

Unemployed at the moment, although I haven't been very proactive with my job search, not til after I get a car at least. Though I'm very lucky enough to be a member of a tribe that sends distribution checks bi-weekly of sufficient amount to keep a roof over my head, bills paid and food in my stomach, though with the economy as it is I don't know how long the casino has before it needs to make cuts, so I hope to have a job in the near future.

Heh, yeah. Well how do you honestly expect me to gain experience if you dont at least give me a trial period... unless you bribe them and say you'll work for nothing for a month or two lol.

I've got a part time job at a Caravan Park mowing and cleaning windows and shit. It's pretty dull but it isn't very hard work, and the pay isn't that bad. Once uni finishes this year (November) I'm gonna try to dive into a covers band, hopefully that'll get me some cash.

Well, I hope to be employed by Christmas; I'm arranging work experience with a fineral parlour if I can, and I pray that will lead to a job.

After all, in that trade I'll never un out of work.
Yeah, as grim as it may be. You're right :/

Heh, i'd be happy with having a paper round atm. Being a midlands lad myself it would either be the Topper, Recorder or Evening Post at a push :/

Haha sure.

Reckon you could pull a couple of 4 hour sets a week?

Hope you can sing as well, I'd wanna keep the numbers down, as we would get paid more that way.

If I wasn't so physcally dull I'd be able to attempt to sleep my way to the top.
