GTA is a thing. But not by name, really. Most people just know it for some small amounts of controvesy it caused.
Adults know GTA, ALL teenagers I met know GTA. As in all of them.

CoD... its different. MOST teenagers or youung adults know it. Many parents and adults (that arent gamer I should have stated earlier) know it.

All in all here is how it is in my country:

Most well known in no order:
World of Tanks ; Counter Strike ; Diablo ; TF ; DOTA ; Warcraft and Starcraft

Slightly less well known, but still popular:
GTA ; Call of Duty ; BF ; NFS ; FIFA

Well known, just not as much as the other categories:
TES ; STALKER ; Crysis ; C&C

And after that put the other games :p
Pretty much this, yeah. Only edit I'd make is to rank up FIFA a bit higher.

UK. CoD is big, but nowhere near what it was a few years ago, closer to the MW2 era. From what I observe at my Uni, LoL has taken over as the multiplayer game of choice.
Even when you stay only wih shooters, BF3/4 seem to have taken over as the most popular, though CoD is still in second, but rapidly declining.
