Ever lost a game, or played something, somewhere, and can't find it again?
Instead of looking for it all on your own,
why not broaden the search AND the people searching for it?
Basically, you can post about games you look for here,
and remember to add as much info you can,
and hope someone, somewhere out there have played it as well.
And perhaps know more about it, and where to find it.

I will start out with my lost game.

----
Here it goes;

For the last 7-8 years I have been looking for an old game I played around 2000.
I think it was called Magus.
The search has been made harder because two games with similar names has popped up recently.
One flash and the other being a kids game.
Those are not the ones I´m looking for though.

This game was a 2D, top-down view, rogue/dungeon crawl similar, dos or maybe win game.
It could be either Free or shareware, I´m not entirely certain.
I think one started out choosing a class and name,
and you began in close proximity to a brown log cabin or house.

The most unique about it was that everything you could interact with (items, enemies, yourself, etc) was displayed on/as bricks.
If you saw an item for example, it would be on a square piece representation.
The bricks might have had dark brown borders and light brown background.
Though now that I think about it, those might be the standard colors,
and more advanced/better items could be in other colors.

The game world itself was huge, and had forests, lakes, rivers, grass fields, mountains, houses and even caverns in the mountains and some underground I think.

I also seem to remember that one had to gather better equipment (and level up I think?) in order to fight some dark lord or other menacing final boss,
though I never got that far.
It was very difficult, since you could not anticipate the enemies strength.

And finally, when you died, you came to a high-score list where you could measure your progress with your earlier tries.

I appreciate any answers, and if you have any glimmer of what it could be,
but something does not correspond accurately,
ask, and I shall do my best to clarify as much as possible.
Note that any info in here might be warped due to nostalgia and "over-written" memory. ,)
----

Now lets hear about your game(s)!

I physically lost the CD-Key for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. It drove me insane, I spent about 3 years looking for it, then when i found it i remembered that Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is shit and threw it out.

True story.

I lost Pokemon Silver.

This wouldn't be a problem, if Silver wasn't the other definition of my childhood.

Damn it, you made me lose The Game!

...and on topic, I seem to have lost all my old Gameboy games (except Tetris, but that's only because it was left in the Gameboy).

I actually recently found my copy of silver in my old GBC in a box under my bed... i loaded it up and the built in clock is dead but the save is still fine, my LV 100 squad is still sitting waiting for me.

I left Halo and Halo 2 in a taxi, fell out my bag :(

#Fortunately this was like 2006 so it didn't matter that much, played them to death anyway.

looking for cult classics Tombi and Tombi 2 (that's Tomba if your outside of the UK)

thy're old ps1 games, and they inflate the prices hugely on retail sites, because of their rarity

It seems most people here have lost something in the physical sense.

I, too, have lost a lot of games that way;
Warcraft II, MiB, my 20 NES Games, some PS1 games.
With them, we have to hope they are just hiding somewhere.
Or think of something else.

I´m glad to see that my thread got a lot of people responding,
even though I was aiming for a collective reach out to help people identify games,
and if free maybe also where.
