Is it weird that, even though is seems very different to the Detective Pikachu game, I can still match some of the scenes in the trailer with the game story?

Some look cute, some look hidious. The higher evolutions fall mainly in the latter.

Eevee still looks cute even in CGI like this.

Infact I feel the best looking Pokemon here happens to be Gen 1 Pokemon.
They should do a pokemon rap for this.

I can't tell if this is going to be terrible, great, terribly great or greatly terrible...
Ryan Reynolds is going to make a cool looking Pokemon film into an amazing film.

Kingler confirmed.

I feel like Detective Pikachu represents the apotheosis of cinema. With the release of Detective Pikachu, veteran directors such as Kubrick and Nolan will be feeling like they should hang up their hats and call it a day. When this is released, everything that can be said will have been said. It is the end point of the cinematic medium; the ideal form in film.

Only if Arcanine is represented. Otherwise, we burn the whole fucking thing down and start again like it's the 1800s.

For some reason I read the thread title as:

Every Pokemon in the Detective Pikachu movie showcased in a "Casting Couch" video.

I'm relieved that it's not, but also slightly disappointed.
