Fable 2 DLC, before or after the end of the main game?

Seeming as I have some time on my hands, I'm hyped about fable anniversary, and not nearly enough games let me play with flintlock weapons (as badass as they were impractical), I decided to revisit fable 2, especially as I had barely touched the DLC I had bought on sale.

I have both see the future and knothole island, but I don't know whether or not to play them during the main game or after. I'd prefer it to be after, as to avoid having to jump between DLC areas and main areas, but I'm sure I remember there being some point of no return at the end of the story. I know that

the dog dies

but I'm not sure whether that, in itself, will be a problem, or whether there was some other kind of post-endgame restrictions. I tried googling, but nobody seemed to have a precise answer. Any information would be appreciated.

do it before you do the ending, or choose to save the dog at the end

There's no reason not to do the DLC quests as soon as they're available, since they're integrated into the main game and become available as the main story progresses.

Doing the DLC quests as soon as they're available has no impact on the main story, but it means that you'll be able to use the items and rewards that are unlocked by the DLC quests sooner and during the majority of your main play time.

If you leave the DLC quests until after you've completed the main quests, all that you'll achieve is you'll get all the DLC quests immediately after one another (which doesn't make much sense in the case of Knothole Island) and you'll also get a lot of new weapons, dyes, clothing options and other cosmetic items, but without much opportunity to use them as there won't be any new quests or much left to do.

There isn't any logical reason to leave the DLC quests till last, it just makes the game worse. Wanting to avoid jumping between the DLC areas and the main quest areas is illogical, as travelling between the different areas is handled in the same way as any other area, you just press start and fast travel as you would anywhere else.
