Yes, damn those "vile" opportunists, crafting a letter that explains how they've already donated money, plan to donate more, and give you directions on where to go in case you don't want to do it through them. Vile, I tells ya!

I agree with the last paragraph, who cares if it is a publicity stunt? They need help, and they are willing to give it.

Just when you think people can't get any worse.

Self publicising on the back of a natural disaster? I stand by my statement, Mr Sarcypants

Hmmmm I wonder can I tell a bunch of starving children I'll give them some food, but only after they're able to sing Little orphan Annie's "It's a hard knock life for us" in sync.

At that point, I believe you're paying for a service, so you'd have to contend with child labor laws, and also whether or not compensation for material goods count as a fair wage. But even if you only gave them one dry spaghetti noodle, you'd still be giving more than the 99% of the moral high-grounders in this thread.

Why not donate the 25k and then for each game people buy from you, you send 10% of the earnings as extra to Japan.

Cheap, cheap stunt, they would of got more respect and "likes" if they just donated the money without making a song and dance about it.

I think I am more pissed at the people who are outraged at this. They are a business, not a charity. They already donated their bit, and they are giving you an opportunity to give a dollar to Japan by pressing a single button. A dollar that does not even come out of your pocket. Ramble all you want about "ethics". But while you are doing that, you coulda just sent a dollar by clicking a button.

Read the letter.

They already donated money.

They will donate additional money from the likes.

The CEO of Mastiff himself also made a personal donation.

How are so many people on this site functionally illiterate?

Who cares if they're getting publicity or leaching off of a disaster.

25k is 25k why should we care how they go about it?

Hmm true, true, people love talking about what others should do with their money, w/o actually doing anything with their own.

-_- it's still wrong though, asking for likes, they should donate more without that.
It just screams "look at us! we're so nice donating, but, we'll only do more if you take notice of us"

Seriously, why do people today have to show off they've donated?

Bing did the same thing. yeah, it was kinda a dick move to pull the old "we'll help, but only if we get X amount of Y by Z!!!".
the way I see it, I doubt they'd donate LESS money if they didn't get enough. I think they'll donate the same amount of money regardless of how many likes they get. I guess they figured, hey, we'll help out, may as well try and generate some business while we're doing it.

Education sure has gone downhill since I graduated, since so many outraged people in this thread have apparently failed Reading Comprehension in school.

Out of curiousity, oh paragon of virtue, how much have you donated? In the even that it's zero (and I bet it is, regardless of your answer) take a long, hard look at yourself and think about what kind of person is more interested in morally high-grounding people who have already donated and are offering to donate more instead of doing something about the thousands of people who will literally die without aid.

I've lost count of how many chain emails I've been sent over the years claiming to donate X ammount of £/$/? for email forwards or whatever. Why such outrage over this? At least they are doing SOMETHING.
