Fallout 3 Glitch

Today, in Fallout 3, an odd glitch happened to me.

Every time I try to exit the Pip-Boy or any other menu/loading screen, my character immediately fires a random shot. Also, I cannot fire manually or reload; and if I put my gun away, he simply pulls it back out and fires again.

Has this happened to any of you? Do you know what caused it or how it can be fixed? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hasn't happened to me... That's a really, really strange glitch.

EDIT: Do you have any mods installed? Because they might be corrupt or something.

Stop holding down the Right Trigger...

On a serious note, try reloading from your last save or simply restarting the console.

Fallout 3 is a massively glitchy game, the only thing you can do is reload an old save.

I often get the glitch where shooting something in VATS sends it shooting straight up. Actually this game is loaded with bugs so just restart it and hope it un-buggers itself.

I've never encountered that bug, but all I can say is don't bring up your Pip-Boy when you're pointed at someone important! (or, depending on just how pervasive the bug is, DO bring up your Pip-Boy! You could probably have a rate-of-fire exploit on your hands there!)

Fallout 3 Glitch? That's got to be one of the most redundant statements I've heard in a while. At least it's not as bad as the glitch I got where everytime I exited Megaton via the main doors, a Deathclaw would spawn and attack a random caravan, the cool Megaton guard robot, and then myself. Fast travel system ftw!

Pc or console?

It would be helpful to know.
XBox 360.

Very common bug, reloading a save before it started is the solution.

Failing that, try restarting the game.
I'll try that, considering it's what everyone else has said.

That's not necessarily a glitch...

Well, considering it happened every single time in the exact same way, regardless if I killed the Deathclaw or not, I think it's safe to say that it was, in fact, a glitch.

That's happened to me a couple times. Just reload. I've got into a habit of saving every 5 minutes on fallout 3 cos of various xbox-related cockslap moves: freezing, disc suddenly and mysteriously being 'unreadable' etc

I love that glitch. Adds to the quality of the game, if you ask me. I laughed for a good 5 minutes after I shot a Yao-Guai in the head and had it launch over a highway bridge.

OT: If it's PC, Id say it's a problem with mods, if you have any installed. If its console, then I'm not sure.

The only glitch I have ever had on 360 is when looking in a certain direction, the screen sort of, goes black, so to speak. I have had it multiple times but it stops when I go inside.

That's nothing. Try entering Megaton and having it corrupt your current game.
It was possible to leave Megaton by fast travelling, but any save would crash the game. Wasted 15 minutes trying to see what caused the problem since it was possible to save in Megaton. The problem was fixed by disabling one of my mods, leaving Megaton and creating a new save. After that, the mod could be enabled again and the problem would disappear for about five hours. I could disable any mod to fix this problem, so I made one that spawned a single bottle cap on top of Tenpenny Tower.
