Is it still an option to kill everything and everyone in sight?

And does that count as evil? I mean, they won't make up their mind if they're good or evil, and indecision is baaaaaaaaaaaad.

I have no doubt Obsidian will do far better than Bethesda in terms of RPG aspects and story.

However the game will most likely have even more bugs, which would actually be some kind of accomplishment.
Even if the game has bugs crawling out its ass, as long as they release the source code, I'm sure modders will make the game worth playing within a few months.
Which is why I'll be waiting a few months to get this game.

Gonna need some mods. Also, a sledgehammer named Mojave Asshole.

Actually, every game should have a sledgehammer as weapon, named [insert game-relevant name here] Asshole.

I was never entirely clear on what was so bad about the Enclave, either.
Didn't they want to enslave the populace by controlling the water supply? That's what I thought it was at least.
It was an absurd notion fitting into the overall idiocy of the main story. The entire thing was undercut by the fact that it is very easy to get pure drinking water.

I still have my doubts about it, though as long as they drop the karmic shift for petty theft it will be an improvement.
Umm... that's not what they were doing at all. They wanted to use the water purifier to spread some super virus or something that would kill everyone that was mutated from the standard pre-apocalypse human. Seeing as how this was a post-apocalyptic wasteland, that pretty much meant they wanted to kill everyone that hadn't been hiding offshore for the last couple hundred years, plus maybe a few vault dwellers.

That whole "Kill anyone that did not submit to Enclave rule and kill anyone who wasn't geneticly pure" or "killed my dad's assistant to force him to turn over Project purity and were willing to kill me for the password" part of the Enclave slipped past you, did it, Andy?

That was just Eden. Autumn wanted to increase the Enclave's power by controlling the water supply. Which was, as I stated, absurd.

of course its not all that black and white, the president actually does a good job making his plan and action sound reasonable and logic, i still alien blasted his ass, he did still plan on killing my family and everyone i ever knew.
If you're talking about Fallout 3, that's just cause Malcolm McDowell's amazing voice just makes everything sound like a good idea. Until you watch him play the lead in Caligula. Then you realize he really is bat-shit insane.

actually the enclave is splintered. there is an evil AND good enclave. the good enclave however is rare because they rarely come out because they are busy reuniting the wasteland and rebuilding cities.
LOL you toally misread the Enclave. The ones that did not want to use the virus were lead by the guy that killed a woman just to force the Dad to surrender the purrifier to their control, and was willing to kill you to get the password from you. If that is "good" you must think Stalin was a great guy.

From what i saw, they wanted to kill off all the unclean people in the Wasteland since they were all affected by radiation, so they wanted to poison the water supply.

Anyway, i'm glad to hear this. In a world ravaged by radiation and full of danger, choices should be morally grey.

I won't be sinking cash into another Gamebryo title, but I will at least give it a cursory look (probably at a friend's) since Bethesda isn't writing the plot.

True, but Eden was in charge of the Enclave, not Autumn. Well, for most of the game anyway.

Ya the enclave wanted to kill everyone who had ever come in contact with the radiation, IE everyone who wasn't enclave.

Yes. If I wasn't going to because of Fallout 2, I was going to because of the armour in that first trailer.

Judging by the background, that's a mod for Fallout 3. But I have seen screen shots of someone talking to a super-mutant, so hopefully we'll see something like that.

I loved Fallout 3 [http://www.amazon.com/Fallout-3-Game-Year-Pc/dp/B002BXKJA0/ref=sr_1_5?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1284144009&sr=1-5] but I can't recall a single instance in which I did something really bad to someone who didn't deserve it.
You never blew up Megaton or ever used the Mesmatron on an innocent kid? You missed out.

My evil character, loved her Mesmatron and spread it's joy all over the land. Some deserved it (Mad Mel) and some didn't (That Bryan kid).

Are you disappointed?

This news should make me happy. All it does is remind me of DA:O where everything was so deliberately morally ambiguous that you might as well just pick your nose and it would have the same impact.
