Alot of the time when i'm playing new vegas, my screen will turn grey. Sometimes it turns blue when i'm indoors. I have no perks that would suggest that this would occur, and have checked my pip-boy numerous times to see if any thing has changed. Nothing has. When I quicksave and load the effect goes away only to come back again a little while later. I've googled this and found nothing. Does anyone have an explanation?
Quick question: Is there a pattern to it? Does it happen whenever you do an event (i.e., shoot a certain AI, save, etc.) or after you've been playing for a while?
Not the same issue, but the auto-save function messed me up.
At the strip when you're offered a letter by someone from the legion.
From Caesar, forgiving you of crimes against the legion and asking you for help, I never knew you couldn't leave the Island without dropping the chip into the console, so, I didn't want to do that. I didn't want to side with the legion, but they had my weapons. So, Unarmed and frustrated I punched a Guard, and then put my fists down assuming he'd stop attacking, but he didn't. I was near a door and I accidentally entered a building and Boom auto-save. I had been playing for a while and hadn't done a manual save in a while. So now I have an autosave where I am unarmed fighting legion troops and my last manual save is from quite a few missions earlier. D :

I've been playing for a while now, and I think it only happens in combat. Also, to try to see if theres a pattern to it, I quicksaved just before it kept happening, and it always did a few seconds after the quickload.
I've also experienced this and as far as I can gather it's connected with drinking Sunset Sarsparilla. The greyness disappears when the effect of the sarsparilla goes away. When it happens, just wait an hour, and it should be fixed.

If you're playing on PC, you can restore the second-most recent autosave by going to your save file directory (If you're on Vista/7, it's under My Documents/My Games/FalloutNV/saves, dunno about WinXP), renaming/moving the file "autosave.fos" to something/where else, and then renaming "autosave.fos.bak" to "autosave.fos" (ie, removing the ".bak"), all without the quotation marks, obviously.
If you're not on PC or the previous autosave is too late, and if you can get to the door of the bunker without dying, I don't think other NPCs should be able to follow you in, possibly allowing you to wait there for the 3 days it should take for the Legion guards to stop spazzing out.

Nah, they follow you through, and I just played from my last manual save and as revenge I went and slaughtered everyone in Cottonwood Cove and the Fort. 'cept Caesar because he's important.
