Fallout RP Ideas

I was thinking of ideas for a Fallout RP but I cannot seem to think of any because of the vast variety. Since Washington D.C and "New" Vegas have been done, I am trying to find a variety of things new. But not just in a new location but a new theme just like New Vegas did. Whilst Fallout 3 was based on a frozen culture stuck within a nuclear holocaust, New Vegas took Mercenary and Gambling themes and mixed it with post apocalyptia and made it more of a fun and yet still mildly depressing theme.

So....any ideas?

If I may make a suggestion: How much roleplaying experience do you have? Judging by your post count and join date, not that much on the Escapist, I'll wager. I suggest you join a few threads, get a feel for writing character sheets and in-depth posts and suchlike, before you attempt to start up your own RP. Take a look at the two stickied threads on the RPing forum (the ones that don't have the words "Clicks and Giggles" in the title) to get a few tips and stuff before you jump in.

Other than that, good luck to you and welcome to the Escapist. Sadly I don't really have any Fallout-style ideas for you.

I didn't mean roleplay on here I meant on a local site. Escapist is to advanced for me. So I guess I don't have a lot of experience according to Escapist. But otherwise I am decent. And I was not trying to start an RP. I was trying to gather ideas for one. And seeing this is a roleplay forum. I thought it was okay to ask. Anyway thanks for the warm welcome. I guess.

No No That was just one guy, don't pay him any attention, He's a jerk. Most of us are a friendly bunch. I really don't know much about Fallout though, but stick around, there are people that will help you.

Enjoy the site HB, and don't let that guy get you down :)

Excuse me?! I take serious offence to that statement. There was absolutely no reason to say that, especially if I'm trying to help out someone else. A lot of people, not necessarily my friends, would back me up.

Wait, why not host it here? We aren't really an advanced forum, and you'll find most of us (keyword being most) are nice enough to any newcomers provided they behalf themselves, and you seem like a decent fella so I doubt you'll be making any foes in your time here.

As for ideas, why not something regarding blind faith? Each faction involved, except for a few exceptions, aren't evil, but instead doing whatever their faith tells them to without question, leading to gunfights and turf wars based on the misconception that the perpetrators will be rewarded for their actions. The factions could also have access to certain pieces of gear and preferred combat style (IE: an honor based faith will soldiers clad in power armor with melee weapons and close range weapons, whereas those with no intention to die with honor will use sniper rifles, cloaking devices and landmines.), giving the players certain limitations depending on who they side with?

Find a new region. A nuclear winter in Alaska or Canada would be interesting, if it was well written. Obviously, you'd need to write up new factions and seeing as it was a desolate area anyway, you would want to have it heavily directed, so who ever was playing, would have an enjoyable experience.

Fallout has been entirely depicted in America, why not try and mix things up? I would love to see a story about the European state of being.

Originality and creativity are your friends. Need any ideas? Why not take a look at my RP? ( Definitely not advertising in anyway...at all...)

Feel free to steal any ideas you might gather from there. Always useful to search through for any other Post apocalyptic RP's and see what they've done. As, a Fallout "themed" RP, all you need to add are Vaults and some of the Fallout lore and you can expand on any given PA world.

If I may suggest something. Get into a few RPs here if you can and make the RP here, after getting into the swing of things :D Also do somepleace you know, such as your hometown/country or make up a whole new land and draw it out so you can figure out anything :D Creativity is always awesome to see

Also Canada would be awesome because I can make myself there :D

I......never thought of that :O now I know what it means to have my brain orgasm. Haha
But yeah the only reason I do not want to start a role play all up in this biznitch (JK all of Escapist)
is that it really does seem to perfect and advanced for me. But I guess I could get my lazy ass up and try it out. Thanks for the faith inspiration though.

See! I need intelligent minds like you haha. Now I think I have opened my inner portal to my RP ideas lol. Still gonna search a few though. Let me add you and we can discuss it.

Like Dectomax said, try somewhere that hasnt been done.

Say if you had a place that was affected differently in the war.
Say if it wasnt nailed by nukes but due to the outside world being destroyed it too has entered a state of chaos and suckery.
Like what if it was less about the big major powers in the American wasteland and more about smaller factions adapting to their environment and fighting each other to survive?
What if there were no mutants and was exclusively shown from the human side of things?

Anyway, use the Fallout idea of the world being engulfed in nuclear fire, and use it as your canvas.
Make whatever you want man.

He was noting to the fact YOU MADE A FUCKING LIST OF 'BAD RPERS'. Oh, and that you complained about the (admitedly heavy) refrence in the Uprising RP.
OT: Have it based in another country to America and have the players play as a group(Like the NCR or The Brotherhood of Steel, but not them, have them put their groups as a sheet) not just one character.

Yeah, what Dectomax said.
Choose an area that isn't America, and think about what it would be like.
You know in Fallout, America, while in some ways more advanced than us (Robots and such like), stylistically it's still set in a pre-1950s art theme? All the drawn posters, the musical style, the architecture...
Think about what other places would be like then.
Hey, maybe some places in the world wouldn't even be that advanced.

This has given me an idea, actually...
