Yeah this would be great if there were actually any gay romances in the game... of which there are none. And no indication has been made that this feature is incorporated in any future plans for the game.

In short, I'm disappointed. :(

While I disagree 110% with what this bigot has to say I will defend his right to say it. That is how free speech works. Of course I would like to remind him that it is better to stay silent and have everyone think you a fool than open you mouth and remove all doubt. :D

Also the world does require people like this in order to have a bench mark for complete stupidity.

Now I am going to exercise my right to not listen to this buffoon. 3 cheers for freedom!!

David & Jonathan called. They say to go fuck yourself, because nobody else will.

I'm sorry, but the level of smug idiocy dripping from that statement does nothing but prove the stupidity of the human race as a whole. There is NOTHING dumber than saying homosexuality is the way of the future. It's a one way family built out of anti-evolution more than anything. The Gay/Lesbian agenda has never been promoting homosexual rights, but making anyone that ISN'T homosexual look like hate criminals. The idea of letting people ruin their family tree is fine, but don't ever put those people on a pedestal when they will immediately turn around and call a straight family for being on par with Nazi's. This is NOT evolution, this is depopulation.
They weren't saying that homosexuality is the way of the future; they were saying that TOLERANCE is the way of the future.

I don't know what you mean by "one way family", I'm pretty sure there's no way to make ANYTHING out of "anti-evolution" (???), all civil rights movements have had extremist fringes and all have been mischaracterized by their opponents as being composed entirely of that fringe, and the current hypothesis is that the evolutionary purpose of a gay family member is to care for their siblings' children which improves the family's survival chances. There is at least one Pacific society that has a specific class of men who would be insulted by the word "gay" but live together separate from the rest of the community and are respected as caretakers of the community's children.

Gay Star Wars characters: still better than Jar Jar.
In that they spent most of their time being locked in closets, unlike Jar Jar?

In the early days of SW fandom, the slashfic (of mostly minor characters, surprisingly enough) had to hide far underground because the Lucasarts legal machine's hatred for fanfic was most often directed at 'zines that printed anything that fell into the category of "perverted" as defined by a Puritan. Lucas's company's actions made it obvious that for many years, there was no homosexuals in the SW universe. (Hell, there was almost no SEX in the universe.) My friends haven't kept up with it since the days when Usenet was king, so I'm out of the loop, but I suppose this is a sign they've mellowed.

One thing I never understood about such complaints is the fact that the gay romances are usually totally optional and you can generally turn people down easily. Never in all my years of playing Bioware RPGs did I feel under siege by homosexuals. You tell Zevran you're not into him and that's it. Same with Sky, Anders or whoever else.

So, if those "honest god fearing christians" raised their kids "properly" and "non-gayishly", what are they worried about? Their kids will turn down any potential gay advances and that'll be the end of it. Or will they... :p
You are certainly correct here, with the exception of DA2.

For whatever reason, literally everyone it's possible to have a relationship with would hit on my character over and over and over again. It was rather aggravating. Though to be fair, the aggravation was more because they wouldn't take no for an answer over being male.

"In a new Star Wars game, the biggest threat to the empire may be homosexual activists! Hello, I'm Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C.
And from then on, it was all in Troy McClure's voice.
... Does this Perkins fellow not know that the Empire is the "bad" side? So, doesn't that make a threat against it a good thing? So... by that logic, gay is ok? Awesome! I couldn't agree with him more.

As a southern girl who knows lots of christian people and grew up in a christian home, I want to just inform the general public, we're not ALL this fucked up! I promise! In fact, most of the younger generation realizes how rude and wrong all this discrimination is and they don't intend to continue in their parents footsteps.

It won't be like this forever guys....I hope.

I know it's only January, but that might be my quote of the year! All I can picture is a bunch of gungan's marching outside Palpatine's window chanting "We'sa here and we'sa queer!" xD
That is MY quote of the year. It literally made me laugh out loud and start clapping. Bravo!

Y'know what, those people should avoid TOR. The last thing any online experience needs is a bunch of closed minded idiots spewing homophobia.

*Cue any and all Xbox Live comments.

Hopefully, crap like this reminds BioWare to add the gay relationships soon. Once they do, I have to buy a copy and a subscription.

As far as I know, same-sex relationships aren't actually available in The Old Republic just yet, although BioWare said in September that they would be added as a "post-launch feature [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/113031-Same-Sex-Romance-Coming-to-The-Old-Republic].
I'm curious to see how Bioware are going to deliver on this. That's not me hating on BW or TOR (for a change, perhaps) just recognition that Bioware don't have absolute control of the IP and I can all too easily envisage a situation where LucasArts decide that it's not the image they want for such a major title and telling Bioware to put it onto the back burner.

I stopped at the word 'Christian', knowing I would be seeing more ass-backwards logic the further I read.
AHHAAA!!

Your mistake was expecting there to be any logic.
