Fanboys and PC Elitism

Anyone looked at the comments on the Minecraft forums lately regarding the Xbox port? If you haven't, they go a little something like this: http://www.minecraftforum.net/news/90-minecraft-coming-to-xbox-kinect-this-winter/

I don't understand what the problem is, personally. Everyone deserves to play Minecraft and some people seriously have computers which can't play it at a decent framerate. This is the exact reason why fanboys and PC elitists annoy me: "The consoles plebs will ruin it!"

So, for discussion's sake, what's your take on this news? What's your attitude to PC elitists and why do the act that way?

PC Elitists are no better or worse than their console fanboy brethren... and as such they should all be tarred and feathered the exact same way.

My only question is why this seems like such a big wave recently. Maybe it`s just an Escapist thing. *shrug*

I don't really see how moving it to consoles could possibly ruin it...
The only way consoles can 'ruin' something for PC gamers is when developers choose to begin developing FOR console, then mock up a quick PC port.
Which, from the sounds of it, is what we're getting with Skyrim.

... but from what I recall Oblivion was like that too right? And Oblivion was still awesome.

Im not one of those guys. I dont think Xbox users will ruin jack. The reason why im slightly angry is because Console gamers get so many games that we dont... So you can see how i would like that youd give something back.

The way I see it, it's not really PC elitism, at least not how I'd see it. It's the fact that more people means more stupid people.

just ignore it, fanboys will be fanboys, they will hate everything that doesnt suit them and that goes for both sides, even when i shouldnt call it 2 sides since its pretty much the same

for one im glad that more people experience minecraft, now the only thing that would make me happier is that microsoft included a way for pc and xbox360 players to play togherer as portal 2 with ps3, since i think most of the hate comes from the idea that it will divide the community in 2

Good news, but why only Xbox? PS3 players need some love too, they shouldn't be left out.

Probably an under table exclusive deal. Whether it is permanent or just a temporary exclusive we'll see.

Yeah, I don't understand what the big fuss is for Minecraft. I play the game, and am what I guess most would consider a PC elitist, but I believe I am fair in all my calls, so maybe elitist is the wrong word, but I understand that PCs are better than consoles in almost any way, with a few exceptions which I have listed in forums before.

I also soak hours each day into Minecraft and I say, let the console players have it. What's the worst that could happen? Swearing seven year olds find the forum and are actually profane and not just inquisitive or curious? Ban them. Worst thing thats going to happen is the Xbox players are going to get banned from places. Thats the worst thing. Best thing, Xbox players contribute to the community and we all are better for it.

I personally feel sorry for the Xbox players who have to use Kinect, I have friends with the console and they're thinking of getting it on the computer instead so that they don't have to use Kinect.

Either way, these people represent the worst PC gaming has to offer, just as seven year olds playing Halo or CoD are some of the worst that consoles have to offer. It has nothing to do with which platform they play, only how much of a D***wad they are.

I actually thought Oblivion ran pretty well on PC, i had no difficulties whatsoever, sure the menu system could've been revamped a bit, but gamewise it worked perfectly, if not even better. (Played it on both Schmex Baxx 360 and Pee-Cee)

Yeah, don't understand why everyone on the Minecraft forums are so upset. Like others have said though, there's just as many assholes and fanboys on all sides.

Personally, I don't care. It's nice that 360 players will get Minecraft, I wonder how successful it will be however.
