A Review
Manufactured by Ellert & Retail Brands, Roasted Peanut Puffs are what you get if you took Cheetos or off-brand cheese puff of your choice and replaced the cheese with peanut butter. [http://www.retailbrands.co.uk/our-brands/ellert/peanut-puffs.html]
Taste & Texture:
As I just inferred, these taste not unsurprisingly like peanuts. The texture is crisp, and, though crunchy while fresh, tends to dissolve quickly in the mouth after mastication, like you really were eating a peanut butter sandwich. Without liquid refreshment, however, the mouth quickly becomes dry after a few handfuls, like most successful snack foods, forcing the consumer to seek something to quench their thirst. In saying so, a glass of milk makes a fine accompaniment.
Packaging & Aesthetics:
The packaging is fairly well done, with clean, clear imagery showing you exactly what you're getting. A nice touch is having actual peanuts appear in the bottom right-hand corner to re-enforce the notion that real peanuts were used in the production. Although, this is in slight opposition to the tagline: 'flavoured with 33% real roasted peanuts'. Another minute problem is the legibility of the word 'Roasted' on the product title, but otherwise the packing is well done, and the information on both the front and rear is mostly quite legible otherwise.
End Note:
Roasted Peanut Puffs are also apparently made in a factory that processes Peanuts. Who knew? Was a little disappointed they chose not to go with that grand industry standard: May contain nuts. But oh well.
