Okay, let me stress this one last time, this thread discusses nothing but spoilers, so if you don't want to know anything about the story before you beat it, turn away now.
SPOILERS!
So... now that's out of the way, I have to ask... did anyone else find the final confrontation with Vaas a bit strange?
I've been looking up this matter online, and there's already theories of whether or not we end up killing Vaas in that drug induced purple hazed to the max confrontation with him. Some theories are that Vaas' sister - the temple priestess - is also involved.
The biggest indicator to this is the fact that after you dispatch all of Vaas' men at that prison, you enter a building, and find yourself immediately ambushed by Vaas in a cut-scene, in which he stabs you with the exact same dagger you were sent out to find for Vaas' sister, Citra.
Now in the game, it's sorta well made out that Vaas and his sister aren't exactly in the best terms with each other, at least on the surface. But it's also made clear later on that there's another man behind all the corruption and crimes that are happening on the island, and Vaas was merely a pawn - an unwilling pawn.
So, the impression I'm getting is that there was a bit of a conspiracy going on there. That Vaas wanted to escape Hoyt's (the real man behind the scenes)) grasp, and saw Jason as that opportunity. Both Vaas and Citra saw how fast Jason Brody was rising as a major player on the island and major threat to Hoyt. So, working with his sister to fake his death, they both drugged Jason and made him think he killed Vaas (in vengeance for his brothers), and then they set him up to confront Hoyt.
Now I'm not saying this was all planned from the beginning, but around the time you're (Jason) is made to find the dagger, Vaas and Citra might have devised this plan.
Now this is just a theory of mine, but it kinda makes sense. So what do you guys think? Is this suppose to try and set up something for a DLC? Was this all planned by the developers? Or is this all just a coincidence and bad a case of bad troubleshooting by the developers in the prop department (what I mean by "bad troubleshooting by the developers" is that they messed up giving Vaas the wrong prop - the ancient dagger - to be used to stab you).
