very unheard of nation simulator. I quit recently because it was making large constraints on my time but that was mainly through my choice to take three jobs.
I would recommend to pretty much anyone tbh, the forums and community aspect of it are the biggest win overall though.

Kingdom of Loathing is a great game, as is Amorphous+. Nothing quite like smashing blobs of lethal goo with a sword that would make Cloud Strife nod in approval.
