Well, the Opera song takes from Celes' theme song which Aeris' theme was quite similar to. FFVII also used bits from Exdeath's theme in FF5 for Those Chosen By The Planet and One Winged Angel.

Ooh, okay, here we go. Runner-ups first.

A suitably epic masterpiece with Latin lyrics. All versions are awesome, but my personal favorite is the one from Advent Children that was infused with electric guitar. A truly legendary song by the John Williams of video games, Nobou Uematsu.

So the vocal stuff is only at the beginning and end, but anyone who played this remarkable series recognizes this iconic theme. Martin O'Donnel is a fantastic composer: even if you don't like the games, props must be given for the music.

Another great song by Nobou Uematsu, this time an opening song for Final Fantasy VIII. A very epic piece.

And the winner is...

An absolutely beautiful piece of music from Final Fantasy VI, sung when one of the main characters much impersonate an opera singer. The melody also was the base for Celes' Theme, one of the more beautiful pieces of video game music out there The player must control the character in some instances to move her to certain places and dance with someone, and also must intermittently remember lines. This was a powerful sequence, and even though the singing was simply synthesized (the first ever video game song to attempt that, by the way), it easily wins my #1 spot for the best operatic video game song.

EDIT: Ah, ninja'd for the last one. Dang it. Still, beautiful song. Holy crap, I love it.

Copied from the other topic since I put some actual effort into remembering and finding these songs. >.>

If you want simply operatic music, then here's a few of my favorites from games.

Not strictly operatic, but certainly in the same vein although instrumental:

And say what you will about the game, but as mentioned, World of Warcraft has absolutely amazing music. Listen to this stuff...

Who does the music for Blizzard I wonder, is it all in-house or do they have a group of go-to musicians they hire? Whoever they are they're fantastic. And there's tons of it too, like literally hundreds of songs in WOW alone, who creates this stuff?

Enjoy!

I's got to be the Opera House level from Hitman Blood Money because A) it's a great level, and B) it's the only example I can think of.

... Can you count? If so you would know that 6 came before 7... Aeris' theme borrowed HEAVILY from Aria de Mezzo Carattere. Also I tried my best to fix your post. Please use punctuation. Also Aria De Mezzo Carattere from the Grand Finale soundtrack is by far the best. One-Winged Angel cannot even come to a fraction of how good any of the songs are in Grand Finale.
yes i do know it came from number 6, i meant to say that aeris' theme borrowed heavily from it, not the other way round >.<
