Favorite Shoot em' up

It wasn't the most fun game around, but definitely the best destroyer of a good mood would be Sinistar. After playing this for a while I almost punched the screen (I was 7).

Arcade wise, I did enjoy the old Operation Wolf arcade cabinet with the replica Uzi.

I don't know what my favourite 'shoot em up' is though, as the term can be applied to many genres on many different formats over the past 20 years.

Either "MUSHA Aleste" or "Gungrave".

Contra is definitely up there as well as just about any of the games in the the Soldier of Fortune series man.
