Where to start, where to start? First off, I feel like the controls have been done perfectly. Crouch is sort of in a weird place (Click the right stick) but the quick weapon swap menu makes up for this. Holding LB brings up a little menu displaying your four grenade types and the two firearms you can carry. You can also cycle these with the D-Pad if you're in a firefight and can't bring the menu up.
All of the other controls are basically FPS standard on 360. Being able to aim down the sights is nice. The graphics look fantastic and the level of detail is great. I was watching a friend play and she very boldly stormed up to a fire extinguisher on the wall and popped a shotgun shell into it. It promptly exploded, tossing her body to the ground a few feet away and shattering the screen with a nice "you just got fucking put down" effect. It's easy to immediately tell when you've been killed and thats a good thing.
The new power armor feels a bit out of place but was fun to play with. The ambience and horror scene sections are as creepy and convincing as ever and the visual effects that filter the graphics in these sections are pretty bonechilling. This is a genuinely disturbing game and to think that it came out of somebody's brain is amazing.
