Fellow men of the Escapist: How much facial hair do you keep on?

I keep a short beard, usually less than a centimetre. I shave my neck and cheeks and just trim back the rest when it gets too long.

I generally start with a well sculpted goatee, or I guess a Van Dyke is the proper parlance, and then let the whole thing go untended until it's itchy and driving me nuts. Then I'll resculpt, retrim, and repair it. Often screwing up and going for full clean shaven. Not because I particularly wanted that look, but because I trimmed it poorly and it looked awful.

My girlfriend prefers a more rugged look. Which is good, because I get lazy with the shaving. So it all works out!

Currently bearded, tho not to the epic scale I might wish. It's an adequate beard tho barely saves any time with the razor for the pesky untidy parts. It does offer much distraction in terms of stroking, looking intellectual, nodding in agreement with people and using phrases like "Quite so." and "Certainly." But hey, I'm now into "man" territory since leaving "young man" behind fairly recently, and men have beards. I think it's like a rule or something.

Also, all these things are true:

I don't keep any on. I find facial hair to be uncomfortable. I shave every other day. If I could make it so it never grew back, I would.

Try lightly applying an electric razor. It's a much less close, yet quite even shave that gets closer with repetition, so a light grooming should easily keep you at a fairly consistent stubble level.

I'm keeping a rough beard at the minute, might shave it tomorrow[small][small]...or the next day...[/small][/small]but normally I just have a little bit, so I look my age.

Oh, men of the Escapist...
Colour, you trimmed it? I could've sworn last time you posted a picture it was dragging behind you by a good meter or so.

OT: Either clean shaven or a little bit on my chin. I can't do anything in between though because I only have a normal safety razor and my facial hair comes in really thin.

I like to try new things. I'm always changing my (facial) hair style. Had long hair, had short hair, had shoulder-high hair, had no hair. I've had longer beards, I've had mutton chops, I've been clean shaven, but right now I'm growing a goatee.

I always leave a shadow, but that's more or less because I'm just too lazy to shave properly.

Typically, the most I keep on is stubble or less (less being clean shaven.)

I range from a full beard, goatee, or stubble.

Stubble, ie. using an electric razor and just cutting everything off, is the general look...though that usually bleeds into the perpetual "I either haven't shaved in two weeks or I recently fell face first into a bucket of hair" look.

Well, I've been going with a close cropped beard, but now I'm trying to decide if I should allow a mustache to grow in, or maybe opt for a goatee, or even just shave it all off. So, I'm somewhere in the middle of maybe changing my personal facial hair.

Clean shaven or a fortnight worth of stubble, one or t'other.

I have this magic trick where I cut about ten years off my face when I shave, it's almost like I haven't lost my misspent youth.

You see, I found that cleanshaven, people tended to think I was ten years younger than I actually was. Really bad when you're in your twenties and the only reason a person won't go under 16 in guessing your age is that they know you drove.

Sadly, now maybe I would want that...

I hate being shaved clean, because it makes me look even fatter than I already am. But if I let it grow for too long horrible little hair islands start to appear on my cheeks.
<spoiler=Not very pleasant look><img src=http://cs416822.vk.me/v416822294/6bd4/-ial4yIs5ms.jpg>
But I do love that in between phase.

I have a full goatee, but keep it trimmed fairly short. I had it on-and-off in high school, and mostly on since then. Every Spring I shave to see if I like it, but it always comes back.

I tend to just have a clean shave or I go for a little bit of stubble. 5 0'clock shadow isn't awful in my opinion

Up till about three weeks ago I was rocking a full beard. Since then I have decided to trim it down to the 'Walt White'.
I think it kinda suits me.

WARNING: Stupid large image size.

I prefer a nice 5 o'clock shadow, but I'm pretty lazy on the upkeep when I'm not dating someone, so I generally shave whenever it starts to itch (every 4-5 days ish).
